Yesterday (apart from crying when she woke up) Evie was quite happy to go to school (because Sidney went with her),
After she had her lunch we were getting ready, she suddenly said that she wanted to get Sidney, so I told her that Mr F might not let her take him in again, and she said that he would :)
We got upto school and the EYFS gate was already open so we stood outside of the classroom and the teacher then welcomed the kids in.
So I asked Evie if she would like me to take Sidney home with me and Mr F said "if you dont mind"...
...so I gently asked her to hand Sidney back to me and she stood in the doorway probably for no more than 30 seconds and gave Sidney a kiss and then kissed her care bear charm (on her book bag) and let me take Sidney home.
I didnt get to see if she was upset or not, but she went in.
Just as I was leaving I saw a Mum walk up carrying her crying daughter :(, and I saw Mrs S sitting outside with her :)
When I came to pick Evie up I saw her teacher leading them back from the playground, I asked her what they were playing and she didnt know! :)
I have booked Evies first month of school lunches online, hopefully she will tell me then what she likes and I can do her packed lunches on the days that she doesnt like the food.
I have also signed up to parentmail and have downloaded the app :)
And have been given a whole load of diary dates - I will have to ask if the KS1 things include EYFS.
And I have also written her first book in her reading record.
despite being a chocoholic I have managed to lose 4 and a half stone in 12 months. This is my diary of the highs and lows of trying to keep the weight off (or at least under reasonable control).

the nativity
Today was Evies nativity at pre school ;o).
Before it started we were told that we couldnt video or photograph it which was fair enough, it didnt stop one parent from doing it anyway (not me though) and she got told off!
Despite me learning all of the songs with Evie she didnt sing any of them (I was mouthing them though ;o)).

does it mean we cant video it?
Yesterday morning when I dropped Evie off at pre school she ran off from me like she normally does (after letting me take off her coat) and was in the play kitchen with another little girl...
...as I was going to sign Evie in I could hear her shouting "bye Mummy" and the other little girl was shouting "bye" to me too ;o).
When I came to pick her up at the end of the day I was told that there was a letter in her drawer with the details of the nativity,
I noted what time it was (as its on a Monday we are having to move her Tumble Tots session too) and the pre school Christmas party is that day as well.
I also saw on the letter that it says "to ensure the safeguarding of the children no photography until after the play has finished" so does that mean that we cant video it? James is going to ring the pre school to ask...
...as long as he doesnt annoy them in the process ;o)

christmas outfit & nativity
This December has seen the return of Eves Christmas outfits ;o)
Yesterday was Evies nativity it was really sweet watching it ;o)
Because the kiddies are still young (ranging from 2 to 4 year olds) there wasnt any dialogue from the kiddies only a cd playing the songs they had to learn (with a couple of the kiddies (not Evie) doing some singing along).
One of the ladys who work there was doing the narration ;o)
We did take photos but we were asked not to put them on any social media, as we werent able to bring her outfit home (we cant even have a picture in her outfit) as she was at pre school on the day itself.

elephants and piggies
At Tumble Tots they change around the circuit every two weeks (just to keep things interesting for the little ones).
Last week and this week it included a plank with stepping stones (far enough away from each other that you have to take "elephant steps").
Last week Evie finally got the hang of taking elephant steps and spent last week doing them on and off around the house ;o)
When we got to Tumble Tots yesterday Evie saw the plank again and started doing her elephant steps around the hall...
...the ladies who run the session were in hysterics and gave Evie a round of applause ;o).
While we were waiting for Tumble Tots to start I had Evie sitting on my lap (and because she had her socks off (to get more grip on the equipment)) we were doing this little piggy they must have heard me doing it because one of the ladies said that they were at a work shop at the weekend...
...and they cant do "this little piggy had roast beef" anymore in case it offends vegetarians! and they should be saying that he had cheese on toast!

hip scan
Because Evie was breech we were told that she would need to have a hip scan when she was 6 weeks old....
...well we had the scan done yesterday.
I was a bit worried about what the process involved as while we were waiting for our turn we could hear a lot of crying from a baby :o(
The scan involved Evie having to lie on her side (with me holding her still) in a makeshift cradle and I had to undo her babygrow and vest and nappy and they ran a wand over her hip to check that it wasnt harmed in any way.
As it was the ladies doing the scan said that as far as they could tell her hips were fine and that she was the best behaved baby that day ;o)

registrating
In England & Wales you get 42 days to register your babies birth.
So I rang up yesterday to book an appointment, luckily I managed to get an appointment for today.
I had to confirm my name & Evies date of birth, and place of birth, then we had to confirm our full names, occupations, address and our places of birth. The short birth certificate was free but a full one (which they prefer to have if you apply for a passport) is £3.50!
Evie was mainly well behaved but was starting to get hungry towards the end and was letting everyone know that she was getting hungry. LOL the registrar had to talk over her noises (but I am sure that she has had some very noisy babies to contend with) ;o).
I also went and registered her with my doctors too, and booked my postnatal checkup and Evies 8 week check up.

It didnt have spinach in last time
I got a new bank card through the post a couple of weeks ago and I have been in the process of changing the card details of things that I order online.
The National Lottery in its infinite wisdom will not let you change your card details while you still have money in your account(you have to have money in your account before you can buy your tickets online)! So you have to transfer the money you have back to your bank card before you can add your new card details, THEN it says you dont have the minimum amount in your account - I think the minimum amount is £5.00 (no sh1t sherlock) then you have to add funds to your lottery account, to enable you to keep on playing.
The ticket I bought eight weeks ago had expired, and I didnt have enough in my online account so I had to do the whole transfer money back to my bank card, add card details, then add funds just so I could buy our tickets for the next two months!
Only in the UK do they have to make things which should be so easy difficult!
Well you'll be please to know that my whinge is (at the moment) over with ;o)
I have sampled yet more nice soups last week in Pret a Manger on Monday I had Thai Chicken Curry (chicken, rice, sweet potato, toasted coconut, lemongrass, fish sauce, turmeric, coriander, red chilli flakes and lime juice) which was really nice. On Thursday I thought I would have soup again and saw they had that again (I tell you it was that nice) so I ordered it...
...I got back to work opened up the carton and saw that it had spinach in! It didnt have spinach in last time so thought they had used a slightly different recipe, it then dawned on me that they had given me the other soup that they had that day Sag Aloo (potato, spinach, yoghurt, ginger, red chilli flakes and nutmeg), and that was really nice too. A definite contender for my nice soup list, there isnt a horrible soup list yet.
Im pretty sure that someone out there is trying to sabotage my lunches, as on Friday I wanted my half a lamb sandwich and Birleys had sold out of lamb! I then had to go for the half a turkey sandwich instead (that was nice too but not as nice as the lamb).
I only have a short week this week as on Thursday me and James are being diners on Market Kitchen, I'll let you know how we got on and when the broadcast date is next week ;o).
I must say Im really looking forward to it and have recorded an episode to watch so I know what we are supposed to say during the end credits (something like: Weve really enjoyed ourselves today, it was really good watching the chefs and I hope they invite us back again ;o)).
I see that Carmen is on at The Royal Albert Hall at the end of February....
...no no no this is so wrong I dont do culture, having soups is definitely having an adverse effect on me ;o) Apparently the "danger time" is in the first 2 hours after eating soups - I have to make sure I keep away from the internet as who knows what I will end up ordering!
This morning while doing the big shop I bought myself a jam donut to have for my dessert tonight, after all my talking about them last week.
I weighed myself this morning and have managed to lose another 200 grammes, I know that I will be putting on a bit of weight next week...
