I was asked to go on yesterday rather than my normal Wednesday morning to help the kids sew christmas stockings.
I arrived for 1pm and the teacher was showing the kids on the white board how they were to sew their stockings, she said that the threads had to be split into strands so tat they could be threaded through the eye of the needles (my heart sank - I knew that I was going to be no use).
The threads were getting knotted up too as we were trying to split them.
Thankfully F's Mum and H's Mum were helping too so they managed to thread the needles (I did manage to thread one so I was happy with that :)).
I did tell the teacher that I wasnt any good at threading needles and she said that she wasnt either (although she was just being kind).
I think the kids have cushions to sew later in the year too (I will make see I tell her teacher how useless I am :)).
Evie said that she was happy that I was in class yesterday so tat is good.
despite being a chocoholic I have managed to lose 4 and a half stone in 12 months. This is my diary of the highs and lows of trying to keep the weight off (or at least under reasonable control).

B
Yesterday I decided to start decorating the letters that I painted last week, so I glued a wooden flower on the W to see if it stayed on ok :)
I then showed it to Evie and she told me that I had painted it the wrong colour (coming from the person who didnt want to help me paint them last week).
So to make sure they were painted right and so that the blue wouldnt show through James took Evie to hobbycraft to buy some replacement letters!
When I came back from work we painted the new letters the correct colour :)
And as I had painted the B in the right colour we were able to decorate it :)
Evie has decorated the bag and written out the card also :)

flower fairy and foxy
Yesterday we painted the ornaments that we bought....
Evie did her one first
Then I did my one, I had a plan all set up on how I was going to decorate it and Evie decided that she wanted to help!
I was (reluctantly) allowed to paint 2 sunshines on :)
And here they both are together
On the chicken pox front Evie had some spots that came up on Sunday but they still havent blistered, so as I am going to take Evie out for a walk after lunch, I will pop into Boots and ask the pharmacist and will see what they say, as I dont really want to keep her out of school any longer than I have to.

pox pros and cons
Evie has enjoyed the pros of having chicken pox...
...the comics, toys and chocolate cornflake bites :)
but hasnt really liked not being able to go to places (such as going to the toy shop).
We have gone to coffee shops though making sure we sit outside :)
she has mainly got spots on her face back and tummy and as of this morning she has had new ones appear on her legs.
I have to call her school tomorrow so will give them an update.
I was in asda yesterday and bought us a "decorate your own owl" and "fox" ornaments :) Evie has already decided that she wants to do the owl :)

no bean stalk no investment job and no humpty dumpty
Yesterday I finally got an e-mail regarding the investment job interview and I didnt get it...
...oh well :)
Yesterday I also picked up Evies (not even sprouted yet) bean stalk (I think that I will ask her teacher for a bean to plant in there). Most of the others had planted save for a few so we will give it another go :).
Evie had some homework to bring in at the beginning of the week...
...it was to decorate a polystyrene egg like humpty dumpty :)
...she was supposed to bring it home with her yesterday and it wasnt in her bag, so I will ask her teacher about that too.
Its Evies last day before she breaks up for the Easter holiday so thats good :)

mini pinata
Last week I promised Evie that we would buy her a present if she got dressed (quickly-ish) in the mornings and evenings :)
She wasnt too bad on most of the days, but on Friday she had her toast on the way to school again...
...but as she still got herself dressed I counted that as being good-ish :)
So we popped into Hobbycraft and she chose a mini pinata donkey :)
Evie also came home with a 100% attendance certificate from school :)

decorate your own egg
In Sainsburys the other week I bought Evie a Decorate your own egg...
...on Easter Sunday I got Evie to chose which egg she wanted (she chose her buttons egg) then later in the afternoon I heard a bang coming from the stairs and Evie had thrown her "decorate your own egg" down the stairs (as she didnt want to carry it)
No I dont know where she got that habit from ;o) *coughs* ;o)
Anyway yesterday we decided to do decorate the egg.
I got a table ready with newspaper (in case any of the icing went astray) and opened the egg and sure enough it was slightly broken (but not enough to ruin decorating the egg).

ami gami
While looking for arts and crafts to do for the summer holidays last year I came across Ami Gami mini figures but at £5.99 each they were too expensive.
On Saturday we were in Sainsburys doing our food shopping and we were looking at the toys I then saw that they were selling them off for £1.50 each so we bought the butterfly, hedgehog (which we havent made yet) and frog.
So yesterday afternoon after Tumble Tots and having our lunch we did our ami gamis ;o)
Evie did the butterfly one
and I did the frog one

something missing and a poorly night
On Wednesday while Evie was at pre school I got out the christmas tree, and yesterday we put on the decorations (including Sidneys one ;o))
Evie looked at the tree and said that there was something missing...
...so I asked her what was missing and she said the Christmas star ;o)
so we made one yesterday out of a toilet roll tube and some cardboard from a cereal box ;o)
Last night I started feeling grotty (but the poorly night wasnt me)
Just before 1 am Evie came into our room and James took her back to bed, and then she came into our room again and said that she wanted to be sick so James took her into the bathroom (he was more awake than me).
She wasnt ill so he took her back to bed and she kept crying saying that she wanted to be sick...
...so we asked her if her tummy hurt and she said that it did so we were rubbing her tummy to see if it would help.
I then suggested giving her some calpol and that did the trick and "get it out of her system" she ended up sleeping in our bed and went back to her bed at 4.30 am
We have kept her home today just to be sure that she hasnt got anything nasty.

unicorn picnic and bags
On Friday I let Evie decorate a unicorn suncatcher that I had bought for her ;o)
Today we went into town for a post grocery shopping drink ;o)
While I was getting our drinks Evie had decided that she wanted to sit on the comfy seats ;o)
She had decided that we are having a picnic ;o)
James then took Evie into Primark

wrapping up it aint
When James was off and we were having our sneaky peek in the shops one of the shops I looked in was Hobbycraft.
While I was in there I saw that they had a whole range of decopage products, and it gave me the idea that I could bring Evie in during the school holidays so that we could chose an animal each to decorate ;o)
So on Tuesday we went down there...
Evie chose a scotty dog and I chose a bull, I also chose some paper to decorate with too, I couldnt get Evie to chose any and then we bought some waterbased glue ;o).
And to boot because I had joined their loyalty scheme I had a 15% off voucher to use (it was only valid for a month so I wanted to use it sharpish ;o)).
So on Friday we were going to decopage ;o)
As Evie hadnt chosen any paper I dug out some rolls of opened wrapping paper and Evie chose a Christmas one to use ;o)
I think that Evie was hoping that we were going to wrap them up like presents
So after we had our breakfast and had gotten dressed I got out all of our bits ready so that we could get started ;o)
I had already googled how to decopage so that I knew what to do.
I started off by putting some glue and water into a pot and tore up a load of paper for us to start...
Evie instinctively knew what to do ;o)
She got bored after a while and wanted to watch tv so I ended up finishing it off ;o)
Then I did my one ;o)
Evie now keeps on asking what has happened to her "wooden" doggy, and I have been telling her that we glued wrapping paper on him ;o).

cup cakes
Yesterday after we had finished our breakfast and got dressed it was ready to make our cup cakes...
...I had already found a recipe on the web, and had weighed out all of the ingredients...
I put on her apron...
Evie mixed together the ingredients for me, everytime I tried to help Evie shouted out "its not your turn to stir yet mummy"
Eventually it was my turn and the mixture was ready
Evie had a taste of the raw mixture but didnt like it

x factor pjs & dress
As I wanted to order James a giant cookie for his birthday next week (which I forgot to do) we went into town yesterday.
As the X factor tour audition was in a shopping centre yesterday I expected it to be rammed but it wasnt...
I found out from James that the (not very long) queue was down the other end (and nowhere near me) so I never got a chance to take photos.
I dd get some of the outside of the booth though ;o)
Evies favourite pair of pjs is her Merida ones - she would wear them every night if she could!
So as Evie is almost out of her 2-3 clothes I have been on the lookout for some more Merida ones, but the "in" movie with all of the clothes is Frozen.
So I had the brilliant idea of buying Evie a Merida dressing up dress...
...and it even had a third off of the price too to boot ;o)
Yesterday Evie actually did a recognisable drawing of her monkey Sidney ;o)
