ooohhhh heck another year

Happy New Year everyone ;o)

We have had loads of highs this year...

Evie started walking and graduated from gymbabes to tumble tots (just looked at the site and it seems that they now have a couple of vacancies (just tried calling and there was no answer so shall call tomorrow!), they were supposed to let me know when a vacancy came up! hammmm I shall let you know how I get on!

Evie is now talking more and lets us know what she wants and stuff ;o)

Evie can now sing three songs: baa baa black sheep, miss polly and just recently twinkle twinkle little star (I shall have to video motion picture her singing that one ;o)

and as it was so much fun last year seeing how much Evie had changed I give you 12 months of Evie ;o)

week two

The second week started off with our last session at Gymbabes on the Monday and on the Wednesday we did our first session at Tumble Tots...

...as they both tire Evie out we didnt do anything for the rest of the day...

On Monday morning we also took Evie back to the shoe shop to get her feet measured and yes they have grown and she is now a size 4 ;o)  So we bought her some new shoes.

Tuesday (because it wasnt raining) we took Evie to Hylands Parks Adventure Castle...

I must have been banging on about it too much because James first words were "is this it?"

Evie enjoyed going there but couldnt go down the slides because they were too wet from all of the rain on the Monday.

We only probably stayed for 45 minutes before Evie just wanted to be carried so we left.

Thursday we went to Lakeside we needed to get Evie some new pajamas (I have bagged up all of her summer stuff and she didnt have many pairs of long sleeved ones).

We ended up getting her these and these (I even bought them in the next size up which is a very "Mummy" thing to do ;o)

As James had told his Mum that we needed pajamas for Evie he said to let her buy her some too (I certainly wasnt going to refuse ;o)).

We looked in BHS and they didnt have anything in Evies size so it was back to M&S ;o)  where they got Evie some more ;o)

first official tumble tots session

Last Monday Evie had her last Gymbabes session as she is now walking.

As she was clearly quite steady on her feet (she was running around like a lunatic) they said that she could move upto Tumble Tots.

Last week we did Tumble Tots as our make up session (as we were away for the first session of the new term) she enjoyed herself and didnt seem to miss the toys but we were in a different location so it will probably be a different reaction this time as she is used to having them to play with!).

We will get her Gymbabes completion Certificate today too (and it will be her first ever certificate well apart from her birth certificate anyway) ;o)

Evies first library book

On Monday we went into the library (Gymbabes isnt on now until September) to get Evie weighed.

I took her to the Doctors surgery in June (when Evie was 18 months old) to get her weighed only to be told that they didnt have the health visitors there anymore, and that they were  now at the library!

While we were in there I decided that we should get Evie out a book (using James library card ;o)).

We decided on The Dudgeon is Coming ;o)

We shall go back to the library today and will get Evie another book to read ;o)

I wish that we had thought of that

Yesterday was our last Gymbabes session before the summer break.

Me & Evie got there at about 1.50 pm (it was starting at 2 pm) only to see the Mums and their little ones eating cream cakes!

LOL they must have all said that they would have a celebration ;o)

I was hoping that Evie would have been moved up to the walking to 2 years class I guess that they will do it when she goes back in September.

Evie you cant start yet...

We went to Gymbabes yesterday, we had got there about 10 minutes before it was due to start.

So I got Evie out of her buggy and had her sitting on my lap but she was struggling to get down so I put her on the floor and was following where she was going (as I ususally do)...

...she then crawled upto some softplay blocks with a plank elevated on top of them and had decided to play on there so I had hold of her t-shirt (to stop her from falling off).

We then heard "Evie you cant start playing yet".

I plonked Evie back on my lap but she kept struggling and everytime I put her back down on the floor she would crawl over to something and I would have to stop her from playing!

the wrong type of sausage

We have been buying Evie tins of heinz mini meals for days when like yesterday (we were off to Gymbabes) when I dont have a little rice salad for her...

...yesterday I did Evie the bbq beans with mini sausages, I thought that she might not like the bbq sauce but she was eating the beans ok, then I cut one of the mini sausages in two, spooned it into her mouth and she she chewed it and then pulled it back out of her mouth.

I know that she likes sausages as a rule because she eats a sausage and mash kids meal that we buy for her.

eight month difference

Yesterday at Gymbabes the bloke was there to film dvds...

when he was there in October last year to do a Christmas one (Evie was sitting on a sleigh) and the background showed her going through forests to see the real Santa Claus.  She was very still and didnt really do much.

This time it was going on a safari the background music was Were going to the zoo, Evie was really good and was waving and reaching for the bubbles that the man was blowing ;o)

Mummy got the wrong Monday

Me and Evie went to Gymbabes expecting to see the bloke with his video camera and he wasnt there!

I then saw a sign up saying that he would be there next Monday...

...well at least Evie will be better by then ;o)

I hope she feels better today

Yesterday Evie woke up with another cold.

She even threw up some bread and pasta that James gave her while we were doing our grocery shopping.

And later on she threw up again after her dinner.

James gave her some chips to eat a bit later on and she managed to keep them down and she kept down her milk too.

Today we have Gymbabes and they have a person in doing a video today too, so I dont want her missing out on that.

almost twice now

For two days running now it has looked like Evie was about to take her first step but she hasnt had the confidence...

...the first time was on Sunday - she was standing at the coffee table and she looked like she was going to take a first step but she grabbed hold of my hand.

And then yesterday at Gymbabes she was holding onto a baby walker and looked like she was going to take a step - in a way Im glad that her playgroup didnt see it before James did.

I know that it will come soon enough and then I will be moaning about her being into everything (although she manages to get into everything anyway!).

another year older

Its my birthday and I am another year older but not necessarily wiser ;o)

When I had my momentous 40th birthday I would never have guessed that I would be spending my 43rd birthday going to Gymbabes with my little girl...

I have to say that its far nicer than working ;o)

And as Evie gets older my birthdays can only get better ;o)

thank goodness we dont have anything ladderlike

Yesterday we went to Gymbabes and Evie was intently listening when one of the helpers were explaining to another little girls Mum & Dad about climbing on the ladder (upto the slide).

So the lady asked Evie if she wanted a go too ;o)

Evie was actively climbing herself up (unlike the other little girl but then Evie is four months older than her).

We dont have Gymbabes next week because of the bank holiday...

double tantrums

We were at Gymbabes yesterday and Evie was crawling from one activity to another with two rattles (one in each hand).

She then put one of them down and a little boy grabbed hold of it...

...and Evie (having not yet grasped the concept of sharing) started crying and I had to carry her away and distracted her by putting her in the tunnel on a high bench.

She had stopped crying a couple of minutes later and then it was time to finish and she started crying again because she couldnt play and all of the equipment was being put away...

...so we ended up doing the end song with me holding Evie while I was standing.

I think it was a cross between being tired and not being able to express herself better...

...and she not even two yet! ;o)

Evie leading Mummy

Yesterday was our last session at Gymbabes before the Easter holiday...

When we get there I let Evie have a crawl around and I follow her to make sure that she doesnt make an escape ;o)

She crawled straight to the swing ;o)

As the little ones arent supposed to play on the stuff until after the "song", I will normally let her play on whatever she has crawled upto but I couldnt exactly say that she had "accidentally" got lifted up and then strapped into the swing could I? ;o)

So when the session had officially started we went straight for the swing and then she went to the swing again just before we were finishing ;o)

frustrated

At the weekend Evie started leaning on James to stand up holding onto our coffee table...

...she cant do this by herself yet and is getting very frustrated by it.

Off to Gymbabes again today so hopefully they will have some bars up for Evie to practice on ;o)

the wrong Mummy

Me & Evie were at Gymbabes yesterday and one of the other Mummies was kneeling on the floor...

...Evie crawled upto her and started rubbing her legs and tugging at her t-shirt ;o)

At least she was doing it to someone that I am sort of friendly with rather than a complete stranger ;o)

Im glad we went

As we still have snow I was umming and ahhing about whether to go to Gymbabes.

As James had said that it wasnt icy I decided that we might as well go especially as I had already paid for the sessions up until half term (and they dont refund or credit for missed classes).

When we got there we saw that there was a tunnel (with the ends elevated) with balls in the middle ;o)

I thought to myself right we are definitely going to do that...

...especially as the ball pool just before Christmas was commandeered by three kids who have since moved up to the next class (as they are now walking).

So when we were told that we could start we went straight for the tunnel...

...Evie absolutely loved it but I took her out after five minutes because this other boy was trying to push her out of the way (and there was already someone in the other end).

The ball tunnel was finally free about five minutes before the class was about to end so I put Evie in there and she loved it again, so much so that I couldnt get her to come out and I had to go in head first to pull her out ;o)

She was then crying because she wanted to go back in...

two meeting worlds

Me & Evie were sitting waiting for Gymbabes to start, when I saw that some new people were starting...

...then I realized that I recognized one of them ;o)

She had come with a friend who has a little boy too (I think it was a boy anyway) I didnt chat to her too much so that she could enjoy playing with her Son and I didnt want to put her off from coming.  She did see Evie crawling and climbing up the steep hill ;o)

She really enjoyed it and has signed her little boy up ;o)

It was really great seeing them again and I told James that we saw them when he got home from work and he was pleased too.

up and through

Me & Evie went to Gymbabes yesterday...

,,,and as usual I tried to get her to crawl up an inclined piece of equipment (I call it a hill ;o)

So I grabbed hold of a mini bean bag to encourage her a bit and I was well surprised that she started crawling up ;o)

It took her a while but she did eventually get to the top ;o)

I then thought that as we are on a roll I will try putting her in the tunnel with me the other end furiously shaking a rattle and she crawled through that too ;o)

There was a little boy who wanted to go through too and kept on getting behind Evie trying to hurry her along...

...hee hee she is like me and does things at her own pace ;o)
