It is my darling little girls 7th Birthday :)
She wanted to do build a bear workshop
thanks for the birthday card Eileen :)
despite being a chocoholic I have managed to lose 4 and a half stone in 12 months. This is my diary of the highs and lows of trying to keep the weight off (or at least under reasonable control).

nada nada
Yesterday I finally got around to placing an order with Sainsburys for some Christmassy food :)
I wanted 3 things...
a reindeer cake
stuffing parcels
and a chocolate caramel star
the only thing left in stock was the chocolate caramel star
I saw in the Aldi that they do a Robin cake so I will try and get one next weekend (as that was what Evie wanted) :)

helping me
Evie has decided that I need help with my chocolate advent calendars...
...she helps me by finding the right doors, then opening the doors and then she helps me eat the chocolates! :)
I may have to buy a secret advent calendar that Evie doesnt know about :)

how many is too many
I was looking in Tesco on my way home from work and saw that they have some cheap advent calendars :)
I saw one that we could get for James (although Evie will eat it for him) an LOL surprise one and a pokemon one for me :)
they are only 1 pound each, so I am going to buy them tomorrow :) if the pokemon one sells out I wont mind too much!

tea for four
Today me & Evie are meeting up with a couple of my friends...
...we are going to a tea shop, Evie has already told me that she is going to have a tea cake and a hot chocolate :)
Although I am not sure that she will like the tea cake :)
I am sure that there will be something yummy that she will chose :)

carrot cake
After we (or rather Evie) had finished the chocolate cake that we got for my birthday, we decided to try the carrot cake..
...Evie took one bite and said yuck so I finished her slice and James is going to finish the cake off (I do like carrot cake too so may end up having some as well) :)

real tears
Today it is back to school for Evie...
...we were lying in bed waiting to get up and I saw that Evie was crying real tears, so I asked her why she was crying and she said that it was because she will miss me.
I told her that I will miss her too, but I will be there (with a chocolate pancake) to pick her up after school.
We looked at what todays lunch is too and its pepperoni pizza with ice cream for dessert.
All her bags are ready to take with us today and I have to hand her swimming form in and money too.

capacity and the letter
Yesterday while I was helping out in class the maths they were doing was on capacity of different objects...
a tub, milk bottle, jug box, and bottle
And after Mrs W (Miss B wasnt in yesterday morning) saw how much water each thing held (filling it with a small cup) the children then had to write down in order from greatest to smallest and then do comparisons between 2 objects as a sentence.
Such as "the capacity of the tub is less than the milk bottle".
I was helping J with it (she asked me to help her) and as Evie was sitting at the next table I was checking on her also.
Evie did it all properly and even wrote the sentence in her own words :) The teacher wrote down on the white board how the sentence should be written and then they had to do 1 on their own too.
It was then time to go home and Miss B got us helper Mums an Easter egg each (so that was nice) I told Evie on our way home after school and I told her that she could help me eat it :)
At pick up time Miss B gave me the letter for the doctor in an unsealed envelope so that we could read it.
I read it when Evie was having her dinner..
..there were a few thing in there that I thought were unfair...
...she said that Evie cant ride a bike, she doesnt have a bike and has never tried to ride one.
She also said about Evie sometimes having accidents at school where she is desperate for the toilet and that hasnt happened for about 5 months now.
She also said that Evie writes letters and number backwards (I have only ever seen her get b and d around the wromg way adn that hasnt been for quite a while also.
She also said that Evie cant catch a ball - which she can
She also said that her drawings are immature!
So I am now gathering evidence before our appointment to show the doctor and will video her throwing a ball in the air and catching it.

pjs and eggs
Earlier in the week (after I had gotten my unicorn onesie), Evie had decided that she wanted a pajama onesie...
...I told her that I would have a look in town (in Primark) to see if I could get her one...
...I couldnt.
So yesterday as it was snowing again I put on my unicorn onesie and Evie wanted to wear her pajama onesie (which I couldnt get).
So today after I had finished work we went to Asda (Evie insisted that James stayed in the car).
We looked at the pajamas and found a paw patrol onesie, and then she found some flamingo pajamas too, so we got them also.
We also looked at the Easter eggs and bought one for me, Evie told me that we were going to share it after I had bought it :)

snowday too
So today is our second snowday we walked with a lot of moaning and groaning to the local retail park...
...we went to Costa
We both had a warm drink - I even splashed out and got Evie a small hot chocolate :) she was impressed that it came with cream and a flake. She will probably want one again now that she has had the decadence that it is :)
I also bought us a brownie each as we were going to brave the freezing temperatures home again :)
We are back home now in the warm and we will have to see if her school is open tomorrow or not...

unsubtle
The other day me and Evie were in town..
...we were walking past Thorntons and Evie told me that she wanted to look in there, so I said to her ok but we couldnt necessarily buy anything...
...she said "I know" so we went in there, Evie was pretending to have a look around the shop and then the lady server asked us if we wanted a chocolate smile and Evie said "yes please" no sooner had she got her chocolate she walked straight out of the shop, so I quickly took one too (as I was offered one as well) and said to the lady in there "I cant believer her deviousness" :).
Afterwards I asked her if she only wanted to go in there for a piece of chocolate and she said "yes" :)
I would never have been that cheeky :)
And I am super impressed at how clever she is, even if she has to work on being a bit more subtle about these things :)

christmas sheep
Last week we got details through of Evies school Christmas production...
...they are doing Lights Camel Action! and Evie is a sheep :)
We are only allowed 2 tickets so grandparents cant come too, they are doing 2 shows one on the Tuesday and the other on the Wednesday but we are only allowed to go together to one show. I will explain to Evie that she wont see us on one of the days.
Yesterday Evie did her letter to Santa and she is still asking for a chocolate lolly maker (it was the only thing that she asked for) and James has already told her that she isnt too young for it. I was hoping that we could put off buying it for another couple of years :)
Work was ok again today apart from the kids deciding it would be fun to fill the drip trays in the water coolers! :)
Nothing else interesting has happened, hopefully I can blog more this week :)

strendon
Friday was the first day of Evies half term holiday...
...we decided to go to a trampoline park.
Everything was going well :)
We were jumping on the trampolines (I was exhausted after 10 minutes :)) and Evie was going on the bag too (its like a bouncy castle base that you can jump onto from a trampoline).
We went back onto the trampolines and then 10 minutes from the end Evie was crying saying that she wanted to go now...
...one of the marshalls came over to make sure she was ok, Evie told her that she had hurt the back of her knee.
They then got a first aider to come over to check Evie over (he got her to bend her legs, wriggle her toes and to bend her ankles.
Luckily everything moved ok.
He said that he though that she had stretched a tendon and for her to rest up for the rest of the day and if she was still in pain on Saturday to take her to the doctors to make sure that it was nothing more serious.
I had to sign their accident book too
After we got out shoes on we went upstairs to the cafe (Evie was able to walk upstairs so that was good) and she had a chocolate muffin and a strawberry slushy, and then we headed home.
We had some lunch and she was feeling much better.
I asked her every now and again about her knee and she said that it was better :)
So that was a relief.
We now have the rest of the week to get through...

cakes and advent chocolates
On Friday Evies school took part n the worlds biggest coffee morning...
..LOL I even bought a tub with me so that I could get a couple of cakes for James & Evie :)
In reception year Evie was allowed to eat her cake in her classroom but from Year 1 they make the kids wait to eat their cakes :( Evie had chosen a butterfly cake :)
Yesterday we were doing our grocery shopping, and in the seasonal aisle I saw that they had advent calendars, so me & Evie chose one each :)
We have got to get one for James now (although he will not be having it! :))

monday phone call
Yesterday I got an e-mail on the back of a job that I had applied for (at the same place that I had interview #4).
The lady said that she would like to have an informal chat on the phone with me to discuss what experience I have :)
Evie was just watching (yet another toy advert) and piped up that I will have to go to John Adams to buy a chocolate lolly maker for her :)
I remember wanting a chocolate lolly maker when I was little :) we got scalextric instead which was much more playable :)

non interview and dream job
Yesterday I went to my non-interview to register with a recruitment agency, she just asked me to complete a form saying that I was happy for them to look for a job for me.
We also discussed my salary expectations and what sort of work I was looking for...
...basically Im not too fussy as long as it is local :)
While on my way home (I happened to walk past my favourite chocolate shop), and saw a sign in the window that they were after a sales advisor, so I went in and gave them my CV :) I even mentioned that I was a member of their chocolate tasting club...
...and if by some miracle I get an interview then I will mention the dream that I had 6 years ago :)
That is bound to sway them :)

a weight barrier
Because of my birthday and Evie having Chicken Pox I had a weighing break...
...so when I went to weigh myself yesterday (I do it on scales in a shopping mall) I visualised a weight that I would like to be and one that I would be pleased with...
...I didnt get the one that I would like to be (the chocolate birthday cake that I shared with Evie was the reason for that).
But I did get the weight that I would be happy with :) I managed to lose another 2 lbs so that is 3 and a half stone or 49 lbs so I am really pleased.
