despite being a chocoholic I have managed to lose 4 and a half stone in 12 months. This is my diary of the highs and lows of trying to keep the weight off (or at least under reasonable control).

therapy assessment appointment
The appointment is for 19th December (Evies last day at school before the Christmas holidays and the day of her Christmas lunch).
So I cancelled it...
They only hold a clinic one day a month and the next clinic that isnt in term time is in August! So we have an appointment then.
The lady I spoke to on the phone said that she had never booked an appointment that far in advance before! :)

more gluing and sticking
It was their homework (both maths and spellings), the maths is prices of items and how much 2 different items cost...
...as Evie is in the bottom set, her items are single figures, the middle set has double figures and the top set has triple figures (with even 3 lots of 3 items), I think the top sets ones will be hard for them!
I saw the washing line that I pegged the odd socks onto hanging up which made me smile :)
On Tuesday we got a letter saying that Evie has been picked to take part in a competition! As Evie had PE yesterday I asked the PE teacher why Evie was picked (as she has the same non athletic abilities as me and James) and the teacher said that its a fun competition for kids that wouldnt normally be picked for competitions :)
James did a search and its a way for kids to try different activities (one of them is archery!) Im hoping its the darts with suckers on :)
We can go and watch too so that is fun :)
Im getting my flu jab done today and Evie is having her nasal spray done tomorrow :)

lunch and dentist
Evie decided on going to Wagamama :)
We even tried using chopsticks
and to finish Evie chose ice cream :)
Evie ate her dessert really quickly which I was surprised at :) she said that it was because she wanted to beat me! Hee hee now I know she can eat quickly when she wants to :)
On our way home Evie was walking through the dry leaves and kicking them into he air :)
Yesterday we had our dentist appointments...
...Evie needed plaster put on another baby tooth...
...amd I just needed a clean and polish - so that is us done for another 6 months :)

not tooth hurty
...as the half term holiday is coming up I have booked it for then.
Evie is having more of her adult teeth coming in now too, so when the dentist reads out what teeth she has its going to be a mixture of letters and numbers :)

health check
Last time I had to go to the hospital and have a blood test and take in a urine sample, but there is none of that this time.
I even went into the surgery to book it so that they could give me a blood test form and anything else.
Im hoping the person I see doesnt say "so your still alive then?" :)

braver than Mummy
...Evie was seen first and when the dentist checked her teeth she read out the adult teeth as numbers and the baby teeth as letters :)
Evie had a couple more holes in her baby teeth so had some plaster put on them. I will have to try and do a better job of brushing her teeth.
Evie didnt like the air blower very much that they put in her mouth but other than that she was brave :)
I just needed a clean and polish and when the dental assistant put on a shield over her face Evie asked her why she was doing it and they told Evie that she could come and watch what they were doing if she liked!
She decided to stay where she was :)
But she has told me that she will watch next time!
The dentist even told her that she was braver than Mummy and Daddy :)

Braver than mummy
Me & evie had our dentist appointnents this morning.
Since my wusdom tooth filling i have been really careful and try to clean that tooth also.
Evue had her turn first...
...our lovely dentist was telling the nurse which teeth she has and then said that she had a chipped tooth!
She then told me that she would have to put some plaster onto it, apparently its common with baby teeth.
I asked if evie would have to ve careful about eating but said that she would be ok.
Sge told evie thst she was braver than mummy :)
It was then my turn and luckily i didnt need anything doing apart from a clean and polish but she couldnt do.it because the cimpressor is broken.
I asked evie later if it was ok when the dentus put the plaster on and she said tgat it hurt a but but was ok now.

no sticker and no toy
Normally she gets seen by one of the nice ladies, but yesterday it was with a man, and he wasnt as child friendly as the others are.
He only got her to look at a couple of the letters with each eye (they normally do loads of letters gradually going down in size) and he didnt give her a sticker after either.
We have to go back for her next appointment in four months time.
We also got the next newsletter from tap dancing - they have said that they dont want the pre school children (or the older ones) taking in toys cuddly/flashing/singing, we always told Evie any toy she took in had to be something that wasnt noisy,
Im guessing that someone took in something that was literally all singing and dancing.
I have told Evie that she cant take in anymore cuddly toys, so she said what about a hard toy and I told her that she cant take one of those with her either.

flu jab
I have also had my appointment through for Evies first Year 1 parents evening (its next Thursday), in EYFS the meeting was in one classroom and her work was in the other classroom, but from Year 1 onwards the meetings are held in the school hall and you get 10 minutes before your meeting to look at the maths and English work (again in the hall) and you go to the classroom to see her other work.
Evie cant come with me so she can stay at home with James and I will go by myself.

eye check up
...she rattled off all of the letters with no problems with her right eye, but with her left eye she was clearly guessing the letters.
So she is getting new glasses and she is getting an appointment for 8 weeks time (when she is wearing her new glasses) and luckily it co-incides with the half term holidays to see if she can see the letters better.
It takes 2 weeks for her glasses to be made up so I will wait for the text message to say that they are ready to collect.

pox interview
...Fs Mum then told me that they had chicken pox over the half term holiday.
I have told James and we will keep an eye on Evie to see if she has caught it.
I couple of weeks ago I applied for a part time admin job with the local newspaper, and I was checking my e-mails yesterday and they have invited me in for an interview at the end of March :)

PE bag packed
So this afternoon I have made sure that I have put her PE stuff back in her bag ready to take with us tomorrow morning.
We got her feet measured on Monday after going to the dentist and her feet hadnt grown.
We also have to read her book, so that it can be changed tomorrow.

Brave wisdom filling
Evie as Nd I had our dentist appointments today.
The other day while she was having some orange juice she told me that it was hurting her teeth, so I mentioned it to the dentist and she said that Evie's teeth had no holes in so all was ok.
Then it was my turn, she started counting my teeth and then when she was at the end of the bottom.row she was prodding with her prodder thing.
She said that I have a small hole in.my wisdom tooth - and that when I'm cleaning my teeth in future I will have to pull my cheek away as the tooth is tucked away and difficult to clean.
So I had a filling, I tried to be as brave as I could be, and they even stopped half way through to check that I was ok.
I now have to remember that today I have to chew on my right hand side.

now the washing machine
Last Thursday I was doing an extra load, and I noticed a puddle of water underneath the washing machine, so I got the washing machine to drain itself and i cleared up the water and put in more washing powder and water softener tablets and started the load again and this time it was ok.
We had another washing machine leak yesterday so have ordered a new washing machine it is being delivered on Wednesday in the morning.
Luckily its half term week so it means that I can be in for the entire time slot :).
Talking of half term week...
...we have some plans...
...we have the dentist on Monday and on Tuesday we are picking up Evies new glasses.
Oh I weighed myself yesterday and I have lost another 3lbs so that is 36lbs or 2 stone 8lbs in total :)

flu for two
Yesterday I went into town while I was there James asked me to get his prescription...
...I decided to get it done in Tesco, while I was in there I saw a sign for flu jabs being done for £9.
As I dont want to be ill for Evies birthday party I decided to get it done, they gave me £1 off and I also got clubcard points on it too :).
When I picked Evie up I saw that she had a flu fighter sticker on her dress so I was pleased that she had let them do it :)
I also saw in her bag a party invite - so whilst rsvping I asked her Mum if she would like to come to Evies party :) She has said that she thinks they are free but its dependent on when they are booked to see Santa :)
And we opened our chocolate advent calendars yesterday (I asked James to get himself one on the way home too to ensure that my one was safe :)), as I remembered that Evie would want to eat my chocolate too! :)

spraysers
So I asked her what happened and she told me that she was wearing boys trousers but had girls knickers on.
As yesterday was PE day she was wearing trousers (hence them putting her back in trousers rather than a dress and tights).
She told me that she didnt make it to the toilet in time.
Today at school she has her flu nasal spray - I have told her that it will be happening today so hopefully she will let them do it :).
A couple of weeks ago I got a letter from the doctors surgery telling me that Evie was eligible for the flu nasal spray and to let them know if we dont want her to have it.
It doesnt even give us the option to say that she is having it done at school, so Im waiting to make sure she gets it done at school before I let the surgery know that she doesnt need it done there.

new glasses
Tuesday, 20 September 2016
not smaller print
I had started to notice though that I was needing to use my reading glasses more!
They did the eye test and told me that my eyes have got worse and significantly enough for me to need new glasses...
I started looking at the Ted Baker ones as they were 2 for 1 but couldnt find 2 pairs that I liked.
So I ended up getting Ralph Lauren (with my second pair being half price).
On the plus side school dinnerwise Evie loved the pepperoni pizza :) today she has southern fried chicken fillet with herby potatoes and baked beans or garden peas and for dessert a fruit corner yoghurt or an apple & banana crisp :)

Only with daddies help
James booked today and tomorrow off so he could take Evie to school and pick her up for her first couple of days.
I got him to set his alarm for 6.30 to give us time to get up and ready.
While Evie was going to the toilet I put her clothes on the bed and while I was having a shower james helped her get dressed.
She is currently eating coco pops watching Dora and friends :)
She has already said that she doesnt want to go in today.
I have got an eye test today.

target set
Yesterday while doing our food shop I made sure that I got myself some lowish calorie desserts and something to satisfy my chocolate fix.
I have now set up my food diary (and I can get to it on my smartphone too) and it shows on there my starting weight, the goal that I want to lose and my % towards it :).
With Evie now its not so easy to go out for long walks especially when James is at work or out doing his Ingress stuff.
