Yesterday I took Evie to her first make up session at Tumble Tots...
...I had already heard that it was a quiet class from one of the other Mums so I wasnt expecting the full 20 odd that we normally get, and that Evie was going to be the only girl!
One of the Mums there had bought two bags of animal biscuits and she asked one of the ladies running i if she had enough and she went through her list and said that there would only by 8 children (if they all turn up) blimey it was going to be small.
We were allowed into the hall and I took Evies shoes and socks off and then she went and sat in the circle for the warm up bit.
Because there were so few kids the Mums and Dad (there was one Dad there) were asked stuff depending on how the kids answered...
..when Evie was asked what she would be doing in the summer holiday Evie said "going swimming with Daddy" and the lady said to me "I bet Daddy doesnt know that yet" and I said that "I will tell him tonight" ;o)
Because it was the last week of term there was a circuit and all the kids started in the same place, a couple of the boys were quite impatient and pushed their way past Evie or were right up behind her.
I think that for stuff like this the big groups are better (the stretchy lycra song dint work well as there were too few kids).
Still Evie enjoyed herself and especially getting the bag of chocolate biscuits after ;o)
despite being a chocoholic I have managed to lose 4 and a half stone in 12 months. This is my diary of the highs and lows of trying to keep the weight off (or at least under reasonable control).

a second tumble tots session
Today we are doing our first make up session for when we go away ;o)
It will be at 1.30 this afternoon so I will make sure that Evie starts her lunch just before 12 so that we are finished in time ;o)
Yesterday I took Evie to Play in the Park it was a bit of a letdown to be honest...
I knew before going that it was mainly for kids with cycles and they did have couple of activities on that were not bike based...
There was a woman there with three different coloured hoops getting the kids to put corresponding bean bags, sensory balls etc in them which Evie did but she did get bored after a while...
There was also a plastic set up of things to walk on (a bit like balance beams but twice the thickness and were really slippery too) for little kids but was spoilt by older kids jumping on them (there parents were just standing around chatting).
There was also an area for older kids to play a rounders type game with a tennis racket/ball (it didnt have people on the bases or anything it was just hitting the ball and running around the circuit).
If it had been softer balls then I would have let Evie have a go.
I wasnt able to take any photos as I was either holding onto Evie (on the balance beams) or making sure that she didnt try to make her escape.
We popped into Asda after to look for some pjs (she wants sparkly and the sparklier the better(hhmmmm I wonder where she gets that from ;o))), I did get her these in age 4-5 (so that she can wear them next year too) ;o).
I asked Evie later what she enjoyed most and she said that it was playing on the balance beams ;o)

going for a play in the park
Yesterday on our way to Tumble Tots I saw a great big bouncy castle on Chelmer Village Green, there were also other activities going on too...
...after Tumble Tots the lady running it said that "Play in the Park" would be on all week ;o)
When we came out the bouncy castle was deflated (as it was I think that Evie would have been too tired to play on it anyway).
This morning when Evie woke up I asked her if she wanted to go into town to see James at lunchtime and she said "no" so I said to her that we could go to see what the PITP was and she said "no".
Having looked at the website it says that its cycling today but we can always go and look in Asda (which is nearby) if there is nothing that Evie can do...

why should Evie have all of the fun
Today whilst having our post grocery shopping coffee I let Evie play on the Peppa Paintbox app on my phone ;o)
As I was waiting when Evie went to the toilet with James I had a go too ;o)
I can see myself playing on this again ;o)

good job I asked when I did
As on Wednesday I thought that Evie still had two more session at pre school, I thought that I would clarify with the lady signing the kiddies in that next week there would be no more pre school until September and about lunch (as Evie will be doing 2 full days and having to take her lunch with us).
I wanted to know how other Mums label up the lunchbox, and if they would take off the lid of her custard/jelly pot for her and if they would help her chop the jelly up (as she tries to but she slops it everywhere ;o)), I was told that the other Mums use a permanent marker on both the lunchbox and water bottle and yes that they would take off the lid for her and help her with the jelly ;o). I though that they would ;o)
I was then told that Wednesday was the last day!
It must have been written down on the last newsletter but I hadnt read it properly.
The weather is supposed to be heavy rain today so if Evie gets dressed quickly after breakfast she may be able to have a quick play outside before ti starts ;o)
As we will be missing two sessions of Tumble Tots in September when we are away, I read in the latest newsletter that make up session can also be taken before your holiday too.
So on Monday I asked the lady who runs it if I could do it (as you are not supposed to take make up sessions in the last or first week of term), she said that that would be ok, so Evie has her first make up session on Wednesday and then she can have the second one after we come back ;o).

older kid
As Tumble Tots runs until one week into the Summer Holidays, it was some of the older kids last session yesterday and they got their completion certificates.
The other older kids will have their last session next week.
There are a couple of kids that are Evies age who are leaving too one that I knew about (beacause she is starting pre school) and the other one I only realised because she got her certificate.
It made me realise that Evie only has one more year to go until she starts school :o(
Next year Evie will be one of the older kids ;o)

from having her feet measured to having a day off sick
We had a busy week last week.
On Monday we had Tumble Tots but because James doesnt like killing time we got Evies feet measured first in Mothercare World (as they have a branch of Clarks shoes in there) her feet still havent grown...
On Tuesday we took Evie to a softplay place with James Mum & Dad too.
On Wednesday Evie had pre school, we had a sneaky coffee and a look around the shops while she was there ;o)
On Thursday we decided to go to Tropical Wings...
The day started off with Evie having diarrhea, so I told James and he said that he wanted to go anyway!
Evie had a great time she even got to hold a stick insect ;o) I did a video of it on my phone but cant seem to upload it onto flickr :o(
The couple of times that I took evie to the toilet she was having leaky drips from her bottom - I told James as I knew that they were building upto something horrible...
We had lunch there and we got Evie chips and garlic bread all wasa going well until Evie threw up.
She was ok after and even wanted to finish her chips and then had a magnum ice cream bar too!
We then headed home but because the road leading to our road was being resurfaced we werent allowed back so we headed to a retail park for a coffee...
...James stayed sulking in the car and I took Evie in for a coffee.
They even had chocolate muffin samples so I took one each for me & Evie ;o)
I took Evie to the toilet again and again she had a drip come out.
About 5 minutes later I noticed that Evies leggings were soaked where the leak had come to its conclusion!
So I rushed Evie out and got her changing bag and took her back into Mothercare to get her cleaned up.
Because it was all watery it wasnt too bad but the leggings and knickers were too mucky to save :o(.
We put Evie in a nappy when we got home and she had a soft poop but other than that she was ok and kept down her dinner too.
Evie was supposed to go to pre school on Friday but we kept her off so she didnt pass on her bug to anyone else.
We went to Lakeside instead ;o)
They had massive decorated birdhouses there
We hired a car for Evie ;o)
She was supposed to go to her swimming lesson on Saturday but that got cancelled due to an "incident" in the pool!

walking weekly shop
For the past few weeks now I have seen children around Evies age walking with their Mums and Dads rather than sitting in the trolley.
We have let Evie walk when we have popped in to the Supermarket mid week as we only have one trolley (we have two on a Sunday - I think that we only do that so that we are finished in half the time rather than because we are getting THAT much shopping).
This morning I made the "executive decision" to let Evie walk this time as opposed to sitting in the trolley.
I dont think that James was too happy but I pointed out to him that she would soon have to start walking with us anyway, so why not let her start walking now,
She behaved herself quite well ;o)
There was a trolley incident though when I stopped and she carried on walking and she bonked her head. She was ok after a quick cuddle ;o)
She was very chatty all the way around the shop.
She has always enjoyed going food shopping and I think that she enjoyed this time even better...
...although I think that the packet of chocolate corn cakes that James got her helped ;o)

more knickers
For the last few days Evie has been so busy playing (both at home and at pre school) that she has forgotten to say when she needs to go to the toilet!
As some of her accidents have been messier than others we have had to throw away probably another 5 pairs.
So this morning while shopping we have bought her some more pairs.

Cold water
On Wednesday when I took Evie to pre school I made the mistake of leaving her bottle of water in the buggy!
As the weather was really warm her water was really warm too (as the buggy park has a perspex roof to it).
So today as it is warm again I am going to bring her water home and I will stick it in the fridge when I get home so that it will be refreshing for her after.
I just have to make sure I remember to get it out now ;o).
