apparently

Yesterday one of my colleagues was trying to wind me up by saying that because we have been given tomorrow off for the Royal Wedding then we all have to watch it as its the law!

LOL I may Sky+ it just to make sure (I would fast forward through the boring bits) as I would hate to have to do time at Her Majesties Pleasure on a technicality ;o)

happy belated Easter

On Friday me and James went to Southend (as the parking was free).

I took with me my Easter Egg sandwich, and decided to pimp up my pain au chocolat ;o)

I call it my pain au Easter Egg Sandwich ;o)

LOL James said (after I smacked him one) that it should be called a "pain in the mush" ;o)

carrot cake

Me and James were watching Britains Best Dish the other day (I know that it is Eileens favourite show too),and they had a bloke on who was doing a trio of carrot desserts.

James said to me is there anywhere where I could get a decent carrot cake apart from Marks & Spencer...

...so I had a thought and said that perhaps Konditor & Cook might...

With it being the start of the Easter holidays tomorrow I asked James if there was anything nice that he would like me to get for him...

...unsurprisingly he said carrot cake and (not being sure if Konditor & Cook sells carrot cake) I asked what he would like if they didnt sell it and he said a krispy kreme donut, then he said to me are you going to get yourself anything and I said yes a slice of black ginger cake.

So this morning I went into Konditor & Cook and had a look at their cakes and couldnt immediately see any carrot cake, so I asked the lady behind the counter and she said that yes they do do carrot cake (it has crushed hazelnuts in it), she said that she would have to get the cake sliced first if I could wait a couple of minutes.  LOL at least he knows that it is fresh ;o)

So I managed to get him that and I treated myself to a fudge packer brownie ;o)

hes gone to the big ambassadors reception in the sky

I saw on the news today today that Mr Ferrero Rocher has died :o(

My Mum (bless her) used to think (she probably still does if I asked her) that Ferrero Rocher was the stuff that sophistication is made of.

LOL do you think that when Pietro got to the Pearly Gates he was asked by Saint Peter to lay on a nice spread for the Ambassadors Reception ;o)

I will be crying into my Nutella thinly spread on a crumpet tomorrow morning as my mark of respect.

being thwarted

I went into M&S at lunchtime to get some lunch ...

...I had paid for my bits at the self scan tills, went to get some plastic forks, and there was a member of staff (supposedly being helpful) handing out serviettes wrapped with a fork and spoon in...

...meaning that I couldnt go taking my usual handful!

how much is too much?

In Metro the other day I saw this article, and it made me wonder just how much I will (or rather) have eaten in Easter related chocolate!

LOL Mum you may not want to read this any further ;o)

You all know from this post that back in February I had 12 Cadbury Creme Eggs, and I have since bought another 12 so that is 4200 calories as well as 2 Mars Bar eggs say 350 calories, 3 Lindor Eggs (apparently they are 90 calories each) so that is another 270 calories.

Not forgetting that I have also had the Aero bubbly lambs so that is 290 calories, and the Malteaster bunnies that is another 314 and the Cadbury Caramel bunnies thats another 400,  Not to mention the Malteser Easter Egg I bought in February, I think that was 600 calories for just the egg itself!

That is 6424 calories, and that isnt even including my stash of proper Easter Eggs...

Oh blimey there is also the 3 Cadbury Caramel eggs too so thats another 510 calories making it 6934!

we have a new power shower

Following on from our shower dying on Sunday morning, James Dad organised a plumber to come around yesterday...

...the long and the short of it is that we have had a brand new power shower fitted ;o).

And yes I did let make James test it first to make sure that there werent any problems, I waited an hour to make sure that he didnt come over all unnecessary first.

When I knew that it was safe to use I jumped in the shower turned it on and the water come out with force...

...I think that the new one is even better than our old one, mind you it was 15 years old!

happy birthday James

street light interference phenomenon avoidance

I was standing waiting for the train at Chelmsford Train station this morning, and I noticed that all of the lights on Platform 2 went out at the same time...

...how can the contractors who installed the lights be such killjoys for not letting us commuters customers have the enjoyment of walking under a street light and making it turn off!

Lets face it there is precious little other fun to have at the train station...

...the yellow line is there to stop you from accidentally being sucked under an intercity train if you stand too close to the platform edge (not that I would ever try that game anyway).

I am surprised that they even sell coffee at the train station because you could trip up whilst running for the train and scald yourself (mind you they dont like you running along the platform either), but I guess that profit comes before safety.

surprise egg

The post came up from the Business Centre yesterday and there were two parcels - my first thought were that they were presents for my bosses, one of my colleagues thought that they were toner cartridges for the photocopier/printer (the fact that they were too big didnt even come into it).

Anyhow I went over to have a looksie (and to distribute the post too) and had a look at who the parcels were for, I was well shocked to see that one was for me and one was for my colleague!

So I quickly gave out the post and put our parcels on mine and my colleagues desks, I saw that there was a gift envelope on the side so (trying to act as grownup like as possible) I took out the giftcard to see what I had received...

...blimey o'reilly it was an Egg from Hotel Chocolat that is like my most favouritest place ever!

So I carefully opened up the box to see what delights was contained inside and it was a Rocky Road to Caramel one - I have never had this egg before - and it is one that I have always wanted to try ;o)

The people who sent me the egg are only in the office next door so I went in there and thanked them profusely ;o)

I thought I had better show willing and shared a tiny amount (just enough to give them a taster but not enough to ruin what I have left) of one of the shells with my colleagues.

LOL I am saving the rest of it until Easter ;o)

ower shower has no power

I jumped in the shower this morning turned the knob to start it up...

...it started for a few seconds then I heard the power bit stop and the jet of water then went from an eight down to a three yes it became a trickle (okay thats an exaggeration but you get what I mean).

I was able to wash my hair sufficiently so that was ok.

James has since been up in the loft to see if the plug for the shower had come out (or anything equally as obvious) and it hadnt so we have since bought some fuses incase the fuse had blown (the one in the fusebox was still in the "on" position so we knew it wasnt that).

If we cant fix it ourselves then we will have to call out a plumber.

Oh well at least we can still have showers but they just wont be as good as were used to.

chocolate coated dreams

Last night I had a dream that I was going to do a days work experience in a chocolate shop.

I arrived at the shop which was where Thorntons usually is but it was decked out like Hotel Chocolat, I was about to put my apron on and I woke up!

Why oh why do I wake up just when the dream is getting interesting?

I went back to sleep thinking about chocolate and how my dream was going to end, and I ended up dreaming about something boring!

I cant remember what it was BUT IT WASNT CHOCOLATE!

they must have heard about my competition!

I have just gone into Itsu to buy a seven vegetable rice bowl (they are soooooo nice its unreal) hoping to get some more chopsticks to use as prizes and the lady serving me asked if I wanted a fork (so I said yes please) and she didnt give me any chopsticks!

All I can think is is that she heard about my competition and is on a one woman streak to put an end to it!

Aha I have fooled her by doing a post about it...

...or perhaps I have fallen for her evil plan by posting about it when that was what she wanted me to do all along!

in place of the can of Tennents Super

James has been into bookcrossing of late, and has been searching out places to hide books for other bookcrossers to find (as opposed to members of the general public).

Anyhow on Saturday morning we decided to see if there were any suitable places in the grounds of Chelmsford Cathedral, and yes we did find the perfect looking vault )it was elevated above ground on four legs with a triangle bit where a book could easily be "hidden".

So yesterday lunchtime James goes to the Cathedral to place the book under the vault - he places his hand behind the triangle bit and feels a can that is filled with "something" eeeeuuuugggghhhh was his first thought then came "what has someone filled this with?". So he gingerly pulled out the can and saw that it is a can of Tennents Super he then inspected the can and saw that it was still unopened but was covered in thick dust (he surmised that someone had squirrelled it away for a "rainy day" but had forgotten about it as the BB date was March 2011).

So he placed the book in there and promptly threw the can in the bin.

LOL he is now worried that the wino will be back looking for his can of beer and will find the book and journal "what did you do with my can of beer? I was saving it for the Royal Wedding...

...no I cant be angry with you I love you really, you are my besht mate...

...WHAT DID YOU DO WITH MY BEER?"

what Easter Egg would Amber like?

I or rather we were in Sainsburys today doing our weekly shop...

I was looking at the Easter Egg aisle (to see if there was anything new) and there was a husband and wife looking at the Easter Eggs deciding which ones to buy...

...I heard the wife saying "which Easter Egg would Amber like?" well you know me and all things "Amber" related ;o)...

...I had to say something ;o)

...so I looked and said "if you are asking then I will have the Caramel egg please" ;o) the wife laughed at me so I said "well I am Amber, and you did ask" and they just laughed again nervously at me ;o).

The weather has been nice since Thursday, and over the weekend I have ventured out without wearing my coat, and I even had my first frappuccino this year ;o)

the adverts have started already

It is still four weeks until Wills & Kate get wedded, but yet last night after Coronation Street I saw the first commercial  trying to get us the viewing public to watch ITV for the big day (and yes they are bound to s-t-r-e-t-c-h it out for the whole of the day too).

All I can say is thank goodness for Sky+ (perhaps they should start their marketing campaign now)..

I am not sure what my Mum did when Charles and Diana married as this was before we had a video recorder (I was 11 at the time and was out with a friend as I remember).
