who is that with my mummy

Evie has just recently discovered her reflection in the mirror ;o)

And I tested her to see if she could see her reflection by moving slightly and her eyes were definitely moving so that she could still see us in the mirror.

One of the NCT Mums said that her daughter could see her reflection a few weeks ago so am well pleased that Evie can too finally.

Does this mean that I live in London too?

We were watching Air Crash Investigation the other day and apparently Stansted Airport is on the north east fringes of London!  We are 18 miles from Stansted so does this mean that by using the same reasoning that I live in London too?

I saw the other day that the government are thinking of relaxing the Sunday trading laws
while the Olympic Games are on ;o)  At least something useful will come out of them ;o)

One of the NCT mums mentioned that our cinema is showing films that you can take your baby along to on Wednesday mornings so I wont feel bad if Evie starts crying or such as there will be fellow Mummies in there too.  I had heard that cinemas were doing this but didnt realise that they were doing this at our one.

And afterwards I can take Evie to get weighed as the doctors surgery is nearby too.

sticking her tongue out like the little green frog

When James got home from work yesterday Evie kept sticking her tongue out at him.

So I told him that she was singing the little green frog ;o)

Later on I started singing and doing the actions as I was fairly confident that I had remembered them right and James had the cheek to say that he was waiting for me to start!

first mothers day

Here in the UK its Mothers Day or Mothering Sunday (apparently there is a difference).

Evie remembered to buy me a card and made me a bookmark out of this photo ;o)

And even typed on the back a message thanking me for all of the things I do for her ;o)

She even bought me a beautiful charm bracelet ;o)

Happy Mothers Day ;o)

putting the IT in sh1t

I took Evie to the doctors surgery yesterday to be weighed before she had her jabs...

...incidentally she is now 10lbs 7 oz

Our doctors surgery has a touchscreen on the wall so that you can check yourself in (and you can get a seat before the old people who inevitably give their lifestories to the receptionist has even told her yet that she is Mrs Brown)...

So I picked up my number (they have abox on the side with laminated number in) to be seen by the health visitor and Evies name comes on the dot matrix thingy but she hasnt been seen yet.

So I took her over with me to tell the receptionist that Evie hasnt been weighed yet and she says to me "cant she have her jabs first?" er have you tried undressing a crying crothchety baby?  I didnt say this to her but I did say that I was told by the health visitor to get her weighed first.  So the receptionist then said for me to tell them once she had been weighed.

So Evie has finally been weighed and she had her jabs and she did cry a bit wen she was getting them, and I gave her some Calpol as she was very whingy and by the time we got home she was back to being her normal self.

We then gave her some more just before I gave her her final feed for the night at 10.30 pm.

When I fed Evie earlier this morning she was back to smiling at me so she is none the worse ;o)

Last night James was plugging in a hard drive and the pc laptop wouldnt recognise it...

...James in actually in IT (so always illiterates this if I ever try to help with IT problems).

this is how the conversation went...

Me: "is the hard drive plugged in?"

James: "Yes"

Me: "is it switched on?"

James: "Yes"

James "the laptop is completely screwed up (he didnt use the word screwed by the way) it says that its a USB keyboard"

Me: "Oh perhaps you should try rebooting it"

James: "I dont believe it I had the keyboard plugged in!"

James "Oh yes it recognises it now"

Funny that ;o)

Now if that had been me doing it he would have had a go at me saying that I should be more careful etc...

ding ding round two

This afternoon Evie has her second lot of injections...

I explained to her this morning that it was injections again today and she was smiling at me ;o).

I just hope that she doesnt scream as much as she did last time.

Still were going to go into Starbucks after so I can have a coffee to get over our ordeal ;o)

more like me than him

Yesterday i took Evie into town because I had a few errands to run...

...I had to buy a couple of bits from the dreaded Poundland Evie started crying as soon as we walked in there...

...and because they didnt have one of the items I was after I then went into Wilkinsons and she cried while we were in there too.

But she was happy again once we got into Starbucks but that might have something to do with the fact that she knows that she wil get fed and that she gets lots of cuddles from the girls working in there ;o)

I am well impressed that Evie has shown such good taste - I just hope that James doesnt try to bribe her with toys from Poundland when she is older!

a mummy of many uses

When I was pregnant I was worried (like many Mums to be I guess) that my baby wouldnt bond with me...

I was wrong, as we have bonded big style ;o)

Evie uses me as a pillow and stretches out as much as her arms allow her to, its like she is trying to take up as much room as possible (LOL she is sitting asleep in the crook of my arm as I am typing ;o)).

She has also taken to using me as a tissue as I am sure that she has been trying to wipe her nose on me as she has her head buried in my t-shirt and moves her head from side to side like she is trying to wipe her nose ;o).

tummy time

On Monday I bought Evie this playmat.

I have been watching Pregnant in Heels and tummy time was mentioned.

We didnt do any tummy time on Monday because I was tired out...

...so on Tuesday I laid her down on her mat (but it was just before she was due a feed) she must gave lyed down for 15 minutes before she started to cry.

Wednesday we tried again (this time after I had fed and changed her nappy) and she fell asleep ;o)

So at least she found it comfortable enough to sleep on which is a huge plus.

And both times she has been sick on it too! (luckily it is wipe clean)

losing pram hooks

Last week I bought a packet of pram hooks from Boots and lost one of them when I walked over to Asda on Friday afternoon

I then ordered some from Amazon at the weekend (I am still waiting for tehm to come).

I was going to Mothercare yesterday anyway to buy a playmat and James said to me why dont you buy some more pram hooks - so I picked some extra large ones up and ended up losing the bag with them in on my way home!

James has said that he will buy some more today and wil loom after them - but I think that we may as well just wait for the ones that we have ordered.

ironically they have steps

Tomorrow I am booked in for a baby sensory class at the Chelmsford Childrens Centre.

I went to have a look today so that I know where I am going tomorrow (as I am known for getting lost) LOL just ask my work colleagues ;o).

I found where the place is but it has 2 steps going upto the front door ;o)  I couldnt see a ramp upto the door at all so will pull the buggy up the 2 steps backwards.

I weighed myself this morning and have lost another pound ;o)

World Book Day

Its World Book Day today James had told me when it was but (as usually happens) it completely slipped my mind!

Anyway I went to the library for Tots Time (it was the same as Rhyme Time).

And I noticed that BBC Essex was there I then saw the World Book Day signs there and had a look on my way out to see what books they would be selling.

I have also learnt another couple of songs to sing with Evie Im a hairy spider (I cant find a link for it) and a open your hands and close them.

On my way out I had a look at the books on offer and picked up this one it cost me £1 because I didnt have a book token.
