Cycling improficciency

I was walking Evie to school...
...on our way we use a shortcut that takes us past 2 children's play areas.
There are 2 prohibitive cycling road signs either end of the footpath.
Some of the cyclists ignore the signs.
I heard a woman say this morning that the sign means its a cycle path.
Perhaps they should bring back cycling profficency tests back in primary schools.

I suppose it is a bit confusing. It would be better to have a sign that says "No Cycling allowed" in words.
I actually remember going on a cycling proficiency test, they were held in the local Botanical Gardens which had a dedicated cycling track.

I have e-mailed the council so hopefully they will change the signage

The sign in clear, red circle is prohibitive. As the police to see if they have a community officer they can send down. Cycling proficiency was replaced by Bike ability and still runs in some primary schools.
