I mentioned before about the newbie screenings at our cinema.
I havent been able to go to any yet because of either the atrocious weather or the film hasnt been something that I would want to pay to see, but that hasnt stopped me from looking to see what is on.
For the past two weeks the newbie screening has been Salmon Fishing in the Yemen it doesnt strike me as a film that a Mum would want to see...
...well not this Mum anyway!
despite being a chocoholic I have managed to lose 4 and a half stone in 12 months. This is my diary of the highs and lows of trying to keep the weight off (or at least under reasonable control).

roll over roll over
I laid Evie on her front on her playmat yesterday afternoon, and she was shuffling onto her side and then she rolled over.
So I clapped like a demented Mum and cheered something chronic ;o)
Then I laid her on her front again and she rolled over again and I managed tovideo motion picture it ;o)
We did it one more time before Evie started really moaning about being on her front.

Bettys hotpot recipe in the pot
I was watching Coronation Street this morning, and Sean was trying to recreate Bettys hotpot after being left the famous recipe.
I paused the show to see what the exact recipe was and it fell into the cooking pot!
And when he tried to rescue the recipe it was covered in goo :o(
So Sean if you are reading this you are more than welcome to write the recipe down from my photo ;o)

Evie got bored
Because of the constant rain since Tuesday and me being poorly (thats a great Mummy word) since Wednesday evening I havent taken Evie out and about since Monday when we went into town.
By yesterday afternoon Evie had had enough and started really grizzling...
...I tried rocking her back and forth (wondering if she wanted to go to sleep) but no
...I tried walking about the house with her but no
so I laid her on the floor so that I could blow my nose and she stopped crying.
I thought oohh she just needs something different to look at, so I got her playmat out and we were playing together on it for a good couple of hours ;o)

keeping to his word
Yesterday morning Evie woke up at 4am (just as James was getting up) he offered to feed Evie and I said that will be great...
...he then said that he would rather have time to eat his breakfast and get ready for work, so I ended up feeding her.
Then last night James said that it was selfish of him to just think of himself and if Evie wakes up between him getting up and 5.30 he would then feed her for me so that I can get back to sleep.
So this morning at 5am Evie woke up (I went to go to the toilet and James was already in the bathroom) and I told him that she had woken up and he said "I will make the feed for you" I thought to myself great, what happened to you feeding her?
Then he said "oh I can feed her for you" so I smiled sweetly and passed her over to him and let him keep to his word ;o)

James birthday cookie
Yesterday was James 40th birthday...
...I asked him if he wanted a cake or a giant cookie?
He said that he would like a giant cookie, but nothing with white chocolate in.
So I got him a cookie ;o)
We had some of the cookie last night before I went to bed, James stayed up to watch some tv...
This morning he said that he had quite a bit of the cookie and I could have what was left...
...when I opened the box to see what was left for me I found this!

3 injections
Yesterday afternoon I took Evie to the doctors for her 16 week jabs...
...I left telling them that we were there until after Evie had been weighed, LOL the receptonist remembered me from last time and asked if she had been weighed yet ;o) She is now 11lbs 10.5 ounces (Evie not the receptionist ;o)).
We then get called in to get her jabs and the nurse said "it cant be a month already!" We must really cause a commotion or something when we go in for us to be remembered like this ;o).
She had her jabs and cried (not surprisingly) and was soon ok again after I gave her a cuddle.
We then went for a coffee and as she was grizzly I gave her some Calpol and she fell asleep on me ;o)
We then went home and I gave her her feed and she took it ok.
Come 6.30pm she was crying for 20 solid minutes and eventually fell asleep and I eventually fed her at 8.30 while still sleeping - we then gave her some more Calpol and she consequently bought up a whole load of milk through her mouth & nose (this is quite a regular occurrence!). I then changed her clothes and nappy and gave her the rest of her feed and the remining Calpol.
Evie then went off to sleep but was moaning a lot and I was awake for quite a lot of the night as I was worried about her...
...typically just as I fell asleep she then woke up for a feed.
Evie is now sitting in her bouncy chair gurgling quite happily ;o)

ding ding round three
This afternoon we have Evies third lot of jabs (until she is 13 months old).
This time I shall remember not to get us registered as in until after Evie has been weighed.
Hopefully she will get over this lot of jabs really quickly too...
...and yes I do have the bottle of Calpol out already ;o)

how will it fit through the teat
I mentioned to James the other day that I was going to buy some baby rice.
So I picked up a packet this morning and James asked how long it would keep and I said that you make it up with baby formula.
He then looked at me with a puzzled look on his face and said "how will it fit through the teat" i think that my glare said it all ;o)

who was the tiny baby
We went to Southend on Friday (it has become a bit of a tradition).
We went into Starbucks to have something to eat and drink...
...I was queuing up and had was holding Evie and I heard a woman on the phone to her friend say "there is a tiny baby in here" so I had a look around to see the tiny baby abd couldnt see one!
It then occurred to me that she was talking about Evie! I almost went upto her to say that she wasnt tiny anymore! ;o)

cereal in the fridge
I had just fed and changed Evie.
So had decided that it was now my turn to have something to eat...
...so I did myself a bowl of Golden Grahams and poured on some milk.
I then picked up the box of cereal and was going to put it in the fridge!

clearly mothers arent light enough readers
You remember how I applied to World Book Night?
Well after a lot of chasing I was finally told that my application had been rejected!
Basically on the 27th February e-mails were supposed to go out to everyone saying whether you were successful or not...
Neither me or James were told either way...
James wasnt too bothered but I e-mailed them as I wanted to know...
First of all I was told that they couldnt immediately find my application, so was asked to let them know again what my choices were and when I did my application.
All I can say is thank goodness for my blog as I hadnt kept my e-mail saying thanks for your submission.
So I let them know and they then said that they thought that they had found my application and to tell them my address and the reason why I said that I should become a giver. And to whom (Mark Kermode will appreciate me using the correct use of English ;o)) I would be giving the books.
So I let them know the reason (as far as I could remember) and that I would be giving them to Mothers in the Mother & Baby groups that I attend.
Then it all went quiet for a couple of weeks and a few days ago I was finally told that my application was rejected!
