parents evening again

Yesterday I had Evies second parents evening...

I was looking through her books and her teacher told me that he was ready for me, so I left her books and we started.

I asked about her socialising now as I have noticed in the mornings that she runs off and plays with M :) he said that she is getting better but there are some days where she still needs to be encouraged.

He also said that she has trouble holding her pencil and needs to improve her motor neuron skills, so I asked how we can help and he said getting her to pick things up with tweezers and getting her to draw letters in bubbles and sand.

He said that he will look into a before school club that they sometimes run to see if it is still on and if there is a space for Evie.

He also said that she needs to practice putting numbers into sentences, such as Mummy had 6 sweets and gave me 2 so there were 4 left.  She is good at the concept of numbers going up but not with numbers going down.

He also said that she has trouble sitting down on the floor and will sometimes just stand there staring into space and he thinks its a muscle thing, I told him that she has no trouble at home and that she just has no sense of urgency and is really easily distracted.

On the plus side he said that she is good with her sounds and number and letter recognition and with her shapes, and that she is really well behaved and all the children like her

It's good that you are getting such regular feedback on her progress. I wouldn't worry too much, as you say she is fine at home and you can help her with the things he has suggested and she is socialising. She may just be daydreaming at times, just my opinion of course :)

I think that you are right about the daydreaming... :)

All the other Mums that I speak to think that she is coming out of herself more now, so Im not too bothered as I know that she is improving.

But is it good that he is keeping me informed of stuff.
