Yesterday was Evies first session back at pre-school following the half term and our potty training.
Typically I saw the supervisor on her way to a committee meeting so I briefly explained to her what has been happening and also told the lady who was there signing the children in.
She asked me if I would like them to ask Evie if she needed teh toilet or to take her to the loo on regular intervals I said to take her on regular intervals.
When I came to pick Evie up I couldnt see the lady I spoke to and the lady on the door signing the morning children out and the afternoon children in was the pre-school manager and she never said anything to me about Evie going to the toilet.
So I asked Evie if she had done anything on the toilet and she said "no" and then I asked her if she was taken to the toilet and she again said "no".
Evies nappy never got changed either so I think that she was taken to the toilet but just didnt do anything.
Oh well I will ask tomorrow when we go next.
Also, the chocolate weetabix that I bought on Tuesday worked a treat too she did a poop in her nappy.
despite being a chocoholic I have managed to lose 4 and a half stone in 12 months. This is my diary of the highs and lows of trying to keep the weight off (or at least under reasonable control).

a lucky guess
Yesterday we went to the doctors...
...I told him all about her pooping and saying that her bottom hurts when she needs to go but she still doesnt know when she wants to go etc.
He then examined her tummy and asked if there were any tears on her bottom - I said that I hadnt seen any and he said that he could have a look or we could d it at home - knowing that she wouldnt let us have a look (if we tried at home) I let the doctor do it - he didnt see any anyway so that was good.
He wouldnt give me anything as Evie has been doing soft poops and that it would just make her poop runnier (which was fair enough).
All he could suggest was giving her more fibre and that it will "sort itself out". One of his suggestions was buying some weetabix so I got her some with chocolate which we are going to try this morning ;o)
So last night Evie said again that her bottom was hurting so I sat her on the potty and she said "I need to have a wee wee" and she had one - I dont know if she finally knows or if it was just a lucky guess ;o)
Anyway we have pre school today so I shall explain what has been happening to them so they know whats what.

Dead Man Talking
Way back in December I applied to be a volunteer for World Book Night, as I thought that my chances were somewhere between nil and zero, I didnt even blog about it!
Well yesterday I was looking at my e-mails on my phone (as Evie was watching Peppa Pig on tv) and I saw one from World Book Night - I fully expected it to say that I wasnt successful but it said "congratulations" I was well surprised.
I cant even remember what books I applied for (I had to give them 5 choices) but I have been given Dead Man Talking.
Yes Mum I will save a copy for you ;o)
Now onto the continuing potty training saga...
Despite sitting Evie on the potty every 20 minutes she decided to have a wee while having her breakfast literally I got her up after she had finished her bowl of Toffee Crisp Cereal and found a puddle on our leather sofa.
When we came home from Tumble Tots her nappy was really wet (and she had fallen asleep in her buggy on the way home too).
She really enjoyed herself at Tumble Tots and kept on running to the agility section as they were banging sticks on the floor ;o)
That afternoon she didnt do any wees on her potty but that night when I was getting her changed into her pajamas after her dinner she was crying and wanting to sit on my lap when she would stop crying. I asked her if her bottom was hurting and she didnt answer me but everytime I went to stand her on the floor she would start crying again. James asked if I wanted him to come up so I said yes and he asked her if her bottom was hurting and she said that it was really hurting.
So we sat her on the toilet and she did a massive wee but said that her bottom had stopped hurting.
At 8am I am going to call the doctors to see if I can get an appointment to see if the can give her anything to make her poops easier to do.

end of week #1 another pair down
Yesterday morning I went to take Evies nappy off so that she could go to the toilet before I put her knickers on and saw that is was "messy".
So I took her into her bedroom and cleaned her up before I did our breakfast.
When we were in town after doing the grocery shopping having a coffee and a skinny muffin Evie was saying again (on and off) that her bottom was hurting.
Evie was standing by the doors (looking into the high street) and James came back to me to and said that she had done a poop. I had already taken her into the toilet to see if she could go about 10 minutes before anyway.
So I took her into the baby change toilet and changed her nappy (as she still doesnt know when she wants to go we are putting her in nappies when we go out).
Last night I was waiting for dinner to cook and was in the lounge with Evie and she came upto me (Im sure it was to tell me that her bottom was hurting) and she had did a massive fart and had a crazed look in her eyes and yes she did a poop...
..so thats another pair of knickers down.

days #5 & #6 two pairs down
After the success of Evies massive poop on Thursday I stupidly thought that she would be back to pooping normally...
...but no!
Yesterday she was still saying that her bottom hurt and that there was poop up her bottom.
So we kept on sitting her on the toilet or the potty, she would sit there for a couple of minutes and would say that she was finished!
She was sitting on the sofa and I could see that she was straining and so I got her to get off the sofa and I could see a mark on her skirt so I carried her upstairs to the bathroom so we could see the damage.
Not wishing to bore you the "dirty" details I had to wash out her skirt and top and threw away her first pair of knickers.
Then last night I was doing my dinner and Evie came in (not sure what she wanted) but I could see a bulge in the back of her knickers.
I then sat her on the potty and carried her knickers upstairs to flush the contents down the toilet and threw away her second pair of knickers too! She also did some more in her potty so got a chocolate heart that a little boy gave her yesterday at her swimming class he gave them to all of the girls for Valentimes Day last week but were a week late because the class got cancelled.
As they have 25% off clothing in our supermarket this weekend I bought some more knickers for Evie in age 3-4 and 8 pairs of leggings for her school bag and her changing bag which are now waiting to be washed ;o)

day #4 - eagle eyed Mummy
Yesterday Evie got through so many pairs of knickers that we had to do a second mid week wash (we normally just do one in the week).
So, Evie still hasnt got the hang of knowing when she has to have a wee, I knew that it would take a while but I was really hoping that she would have done it by now...
...she had done a few wees on the potty yesterday but that was because she was happening to be sitting on there at the time!
Yesterday the poop saga continued...
...Evie was saying periodically that she had poop up her bottom so I would either sit her on the potty or the toilet to see if she could do one. She would just say that she was "finished".
Then in the afternoon we were doing some painting and I saw that Evie was straining so I quickly put her on the potty so that she could do it on there...
...and hey presto she did a massive poop ;o)

day #3 - more fukes than anything
Evie still hasnt grasped needing to go to the toilet yet...
...yesterday was a bit of a battle of wills...
...I ended up telling James when he got home from work that if we had another child (not very likely given my age but you never know ;o)) that he will have to take the time off work to do it himself! ;o)
We did have a few wees on the potty but that was more because she was happening to be sitting there more than anything.
She still hasnt had a poop since Saturday and yesterday she kept on saying that her bottom was hurting and that she had poo poo in her bottom but as soon as I sat her on the toilet she would want to get off again...
..oh well hopefully today...
Im going to make sure that she eats some more fruit ;o)

day #2 and socks
Yesterday was just accidents, nothing was done on the toilet or the potty :o(
But when I asked yesterday morning if she wanted to wear her knickers again she said "yes" so at least she is enjoying wearing them.
I still cant get her to pull her knickers down yet herself, so (providing she has grasped the whole knowing when she has to go) I will have to let her pre-school know next week.
When I asked my friends about how many pairs of knickers that I would need for Evie no-one mentioned that we would need more socks!
Yesterday just before lunchtime we got down to Evies penultimate pair of clean socks so I texted James to buy some more, her bought 15 pairs (5 pairs of which are the wrong size) so we have 5 pairs currently being washed, Evie is wearing 1 pair and there are 4 pairs upstairs until the washing has dried ;o)
Evie still hasnt done a poop since Saturday...
...hopefully she will do it on the toilet or potty today ;o)

afternoon #1 and Peppa Pig Movie
Yesterday morning I took Evie to see the new Peppa Pig Movie ;o)
She had a great time and was sitting there entranced for the entire screening ;o)
I asked her after what she liked best about the film and she said "naughty Mrs Duck" and I asked her if she liked the cinema and she said "yes" and then I asked if she would like to go to the cinema again ad she said "no" but then she says that about everything ;o)
So we got home (I had been telling her yesterday that when we got home from the cinema that I would put her in knickers so that she can use the toilet or potty) and she started crying saying that she didnt want to wear knickers (so I gave her a cuddle and told her that it would be ok and that she will be going to the toilet like Mummy & Daddy).
I had already dressed Evie in a skirt with some tights that morning so when I took her nappy off I let her chose her own knickers and some sock (to keep her feet nice and warm).
I have been setting the kitchen timer app on my smartphone for every 20 minutes and we go up to the toilet so that she can try to go.
We had several accidents yesterday (I tried to keep count and think that there was eight or nine) and after Evie did a wee on the carpet James got her to sit on her potty (she was sitting there for about half an hour watching Peppa Pig) and when she got up there was a huge wee in there...
...not sure if she knew that she had done it or not but she got 2 chocolate buttons and a sticker for her potty ;o)
At one point yesterday she did tell me that she had done a wee on the carpet.
She is watching tv and eating her toast and hasnt done anything in the toilet/potty or otherwise yet since taking her nappy off this morning.
She hasnt done a poop since Saturday now so hopefully she will want to do it on the toilet or potty today ;o)

plan of action
After seeing Peppa Pig at the cinema tomorrow we will go home and I will change Evies nappy and put her in a dress or skirt so its easy for her to go to the toilet and hopefully *crosses fingers, toes, legs, arms and eyes* she will take to using the toilet really easily.
We have 28 pairs of knickers all washed, three potties (one downstairs and two upstairs) and a mini mouse toilet seat ;o)
and bags full of enthusiasm ;o)

As...
Evies swimming lesson has been cancelled due to too much chlorine in the water (making it unsafe for the kiddies to swim in) im going to utilise the extra washing machine space with Evies age 3-4 skirts and dresses for Evies potty training marathon on monday.

two swallows*
*disclaimer - no actual swallows are featured in this post ;o)
For the last few weeks now I (or rather we) have been sitting Evie on the toilet every time we change her nappy.
A couple of weeks ago she actually did a wee on the toilet (she got a high five, a chocolate button and got to stick a sticker on her step up stool).
I told James about it and he said that "perhaps we should stick her in knickers" to capitalise on the success (but I just put it down to it being a a fluke) I could hear my Mums words saying "two swallows dont make a summer".
Then last week when I picked Evie up from pre-school they told me that Evie said that she wanted to do a poop so they sat her on the toilet and she did a wee ;o)
She hasnt said since that she would like to do a wee or poop on the toilet but that could just be because its me & James...
Because its half term next week (and that means apart from going to the cinema on Monday morning) we have a clear week we are gong to start potty training ;o) Otherwise we would have to wait until Easter!
We have 28 pairs of knickers (one friend told me that you cant have too many pairs).
We have 18 pairs in age 2-3 (she is still in her 2-3 clothes) and 10 pairs (that we bought yesterday) in age 3-4.
I know that some are going to have to be thrown away so hopefully we will have enough ;o)

haircuticate
On Thursday I took Evie to get her very first haircut ;o)
She was very good and let my hairdresser cut her hair ;o)
She even got a certificate ;o) I asked if they did them and they said that they would see about doing one for me ;o)
After all that her favourite thing was getting the lollipop after! ;o)

the things I saw yesterday
Yesterday on my way to and from dropping Evie off at pre-school I saw these things ;o)
In the morning (dropping her off) I saw these interesting rooftops and thought that they would be perfect for this weeks Project flickr architectural angles.
And then collecting Evie from pre-school I saw some freezing bridesmaids waiting for the bride
I didnt catch sight of the bride but I did see the lorry that she was going to arrive in ;o)
I also saw that some of the thicker branches from this cut down tree had been taken by someone ;o)

is it Mummy or Daddy
On Friday when I picked Evie up from pre-school I checked her drawer and found a picture in it for us to take home ;o)
So I said to Evie "oh, its a picture for Mummy" and she said "no, its for Daddy"
So when we got home I took the picture out of the bag and saw that it said "this is my Mummy..."
So I then said to Evie "its a picture of Mummy" and she then said no "its a picture of Daddy"
When James got home from work she said to him "Ive done you a picture - its a picture of you"
Im still claiming that its a picture of me because it says so ;o)
Last weeks project flickr was words, so I added the second photo to the group ;o)
