best girl dancer
Evie went to a birthday party yesterday and won a trophy for the best girl dancer :)
And yesterday I weighed myself and have lost another 4lbs so that is 33lbs in total or 2 stones 5lbs :)

seven plus seven nights and book look
After Evies successful seven dry nights, I said to her lets see if you can do eight dry nights, and she said I dont want to do eight , so I suggested seven plus one and that was acceptable :)
So this morning when I woke Evie up I said to her shall we see if you have done seven plus seven nights and she said yes, so we went to the toilet and yay the nappy was dry, so tonight she can sleep in knickers :)
Yesterday Evies school had their book look (giving us parents a chance to see what work they have been doing) :).
It was really good seeing all of the stuff she has been doing :)
And in the scale that they use to judge how well they are doing there were "high" and "good" so that was encouraging :)

part time receptionist
I have applied for a part time receptionist job at a vets in a pet shop.
It will certainly cure me being scared of dogs :)

experienced dinner ladies
Last night I had my phone fully charged and in my pocket ready for the phone call.
My phone eventually rang at 17.34, so I answered it and I was told that I was unsuccessful this time, due to applicants having experience who have done the job before, but to keep an eye out because jobs are always coming up.
I am seeing the funny side to there being experienced dinner ladies :)
The reminder came up on my phone about Chilli con carne for lunch, and asked Evie about it last night and this morning and she has said that she would like a packed lunch that day.
So I will log in and change her preference that day to say she wont be having a school dinner, but will ask her again the day before :).

the interview
When I got there the first thing I was asked for was my passport so that they could photocopy it and then I had to complete 2 tickbox forms - the first was asking if I had any health issues that would stop me doing the job and the second was if I had any criminal convictions (spent or otherwise).
Then I was shown into the head teachers office...
...I was interviewed by the head teacher and the deputy head.
I was asked questions about the job...
such as what would I say if a pupil wanted to friend me on social media? I answered that I would tell them the truth and say that Im not on facebook.
I think that I answered the questions ok.
As not all of the people could be interviewed yesterday (there was a class visit) I will find out today...
...so I will make sure that I have my phone in my pocket fully charged :)

teacher chat
Yesterday when I picked Evie up after school, her teacher Mr F asked if he could have a chat with me...
...so I said that we could do it then (so as to get it over and done with and to stop me fretting what it might be about).
It was mainly about her lack of socialising with the other children in her class. He said that she had started to get better with it up until the Christmas holidays but had gone backwards again since coming back from the 2 week break.
He said that he is going to get her to play with different children throughout the day.
I told him that Evie had gone to a birthday party on Saturday (she had 2 to go to at the weekend), and had she told me that she was playing "Mummies and Daddies" with R & M (so she is definitely forming new friendships).
He asked me to let him know what things she likes playing with, so I told him that she likes best what her pre school called "small world" toys.
He also asked about her eyesight as he says that sometimes she cant work out where she is! I told him that she is due to pick up her new glasses during half term as her prescription had changed slightly.
He also said that she has trouble following instructions and I told him that she is the same at home as well.
On the plus side he didnt bring up her getting dressed slowly or eating slowly :)

Dressed up and raring to go
I have my interview outfit on, and I have my passport with me (to confirm that I am legally entitled to work in the UK) and my P45 to show my national insurance number.
I am.a bit nervous and am hoping that Evie decides to get dressed quickly today, so I can be as calm as possible for my interview.
I will find out if I have got the job after 5 pm tonight.

seven nights
Ever since wee put Evie back in nappies at night I have been promising her a present if she can have seven dry nights in a row.
The most she has normally done is five nights, but this week she has done really well and has had seven dry nights :)
If she can stay dry for another seven nights then we will leave the pull-ups off :)

I forgot to say...
...I weighed myself yesterday, I was hoping for 3 lbs to make it up to 2 stones, but would have been happy with 1 lb.
So I was well happy with 4 lbs.
So that is 29 lbs or 2 stones 1 lb in total :)

mini pinata
Last week I promised Evie that we would buy her a present if she got dressed (quickly-ish) in the mornings and evenings :)
She wasnt too bad on most of the days, but on Friday she had her toast on the way to school again...
...but as she still got herself dressed I counted that as being good-ish :)
So we popped into Hobbycraft and she chose a mini pinata donkey :)
Evie also came home with a 100% attendance certificate from school :)

not so secret colouring book
Today I treated myself to an adult colouring book...
...its for me to do when I go into town on my own :)

not liking chilli
On Tuesday night James asked Evie about her lunch and she said that she doesnt like chilli...
...so we looked at the new menu and saw that the other option for that day is Mac & cheese (and she definitely doesnt like that).
So I asked her what she doesnt like about the chilli and she said hat she doesnt like the beans in it. I told her that she can pick them out next time and doesnt have to eat them :).
As we were in Sainsburys last night I showed her what macaroni cheese looks like (in case it suddenly looked edible) and she said that she still didnt like it.
I have put a note in my phone for the next time she has chilli, so she can decided whether to try it again or to take a packed lunch.

still up for grabs
Yesterday after I picked Evie up from school I was checking my e-mails...
...I saw there was an e-mail from head teacher :)
I thought that it would be about the admin job I had just applied for, so I opened the e-mail but no it was from the head teacher at Evies school and was about the dinner lady job, saying that they didnt have enough applications to consider anyone for an interview and they are now going to advertise the jobs in the local newspaper and was I still interested?
So I answered back and said yes I was still interested.
Its a shame that they wouldnt interview the people who had applied anyway (as they say "a bird in the hand etc").
I think Evie would prefer it if I got the job as a dinner lady as it would mean just the same rushing that we do now :)

nice and early
Yay this morning Evie was dressed by 7.30 :)
She has always preferrred wearing a dress and skirt to trousers and socks.
So on Thursday last week (after Evie still wasnt dressed and ate her toast on the way to school) I hit on the idea that if she gets dressed by a certain time (7.50 in her case) then she can wear her dress and tights and if she isnt dressed then I take them away and it will leave her with the trousers and socks.
So when I was giving her time checks I would also add in how long it was before I would take away her dress and skirt.
Also I have a sore little toe and I put a plaster on my toe this morning and Evie said that she wanted her box of plasters to hold, so I told her that is she was dressed nice and early then she could have them.
So I found the crumpled box and told her that I found the plasters.
I think the plasters were the real reason for her getting dressed quickly and she is as pleased as I am that we are both happy :)

first couple of days back
Lets just say Evie has been really tired since going back to school after the Christmas holidays and has been backchatting me and not doing as she is told.
I have even banned her from using the play area for a week.
On Thursday she was playing up so much that I told her no TV and no dessert.
On Friday she was better so that was good.
Yesterday it was back to swimming lesson and today tap dancing started again :)
So its back to rush rush rush :)

Super skinny latte
So first thing first Evie ended up eating her toast on our way to school.
When I woke her up.i told her it was school.amd she went to pull the duvet back over her head and I told her that she had to get up and she was lying there kicking her legs "tantrum" I should have known how the morning would go after that bad start :)
For topping up my Starbucks card I was entitled to a free drink, I also had another free drink as part a reward anyway.
The one for topping up expires on Sunday and the reward one expires next month.
So I went to get my free drink - first I was told that the free drink can now only be a medium one and then it used the reward that expires next month!
Not wishing to miss out on my other free drink I told the person who served me and I have been given a free drink voucher :)
As my jeans have been getting looser I though that it was time to get myself a belt.
So I went to primark and tried a medium size but it was way to small I couldn't see any extra large ones in the style that I liked so that's a shame.
I can only imagine that their belts are for super skinny people.

Yesterday James went back to work...
...and tomorrow Evie goes back to school.
Her PE kit is back in her PE bag and I have put in there a track suit too (as requested).
Hopefully it wont be a toast on the way to school morning :)
One Mum even joked with me about it :) I told her it was a good indication of what type of morning I have had :).

another school job application
I have applied for a job at a school (not Evies school) as an admin and finance assistant.
I dont know if I even stand a chance (but I have got office experience by the bucket load) :)
So I shall leave the job searching until I hear back either way :)

...lets just say the venue messed up twice the first was that they didnt know that we had paid for unlimited hot drinks for our guests (which they honoured) and then they messed up the party bags that we had paid for (they wouldnt even throw a little something together), but they have since reinbursed us the money.
