3PR

Essex Schools are having an initiative called 3PR to make the roads safer around the schools (Im not sure if its just primary schools or includes secondary schools too).

Yesterday there were 2 marshalls (a year 6 girl and her Mum) handing out tokens (on the stretch of road that they dont want parents to park on),

There were another 2 marshalls on the other end too.

Both sets of marshalls were handing out tokens to the kids who were walking/cycling/scootering to put in to the box in their classrooms.

At the end of each month the class with the most tokens wins the cup (Im not sure if they get a prize too or if it is just the prestige of winning).

The kids were playing superheroes yesterday while waiting to go in their class and they were saying that the tokens had super powers :)

another 3 pounds

Yay I have lost another 3lbs, so that makes 39lbs or 2 stone 11lbs in total :).

I am looking at restaurants for a celebratory meal once I have reached my ideal weight :)

77 applicants

Yesterday I had my interview.

Because of the hours 10am to 2pm and it being 4 days a week, the lady interviewing me said that there were 77 applicants and I was in the top 3 :)  So even if I dont get the job Im pleased about that.

I think the interview went well, they told me what the job entails, and it sounds like I can do all of the bits involved etc.

She also asked me what I would do for childcare during the school holidays and I said that next to her school they have a breakfast/after school club so I would see if they do school holiday clubs too.

They have 1 more person to interview today, and I will find out next week :).

open classroom door

Storm Doris is doing her stuff...

...when me & Evie left home it was windy but that was all, about halfway to school it started to rain and when we were waiting for the gates to be opened it started really raining hard.

I was pleased to see that Mr F had the classroom door open so the kids could go straight in :)

Normally they have to wait 10 minutes in the play area until they open the doors.

Were supposed to have 60mph winds today, just in time for my job interview!

wrong date

I was checking my e-mails yesterday and got another one about my interview, the lady said that she meant February and not March, so I now have my interview on Thursday.

I am a bit nervous already...

pox interview

Yesterday when I took Evie to school I saw F & A showing each other their backs...

...Fs Mum then told me that they had chicken pox over the half term holiday.

I have told James and we will keep an eye on Evie to see if she has caught it.

I couple of weeks ago I applied for a part time admin job with the local newspaper, and I was checking my e-mails yesterday and they have invited me in for an interview at the end of March :)

PE bag packed

On the Thursday (before half term) when I picked Evie up from school she had her PE kit to be washed.

So this afternoon I have made sure that I have put her PE stuff back in her bag ready to take with us tomorrow morning.

We got her feet measured on Monday after going to the dentist and her feet hadnt grown.

We also have to read her book, so that it can be changed tomorrow.

trolls it was

We got up, and went downstairs and I did our breakfast as soon as we got downstairs.

Evie even ate her breakfast quickly.

She then got dressed while I was doing the washing up.

I hadnt even finished and she was dressed :)

I then got myself dressed quickly, got together our snacks (2 bags of popcorn,1 bag of chocolate buttons and a fruit peeler), and some water.

And we headed to the cinema.

We got there in plenty of time to see Trolls so that was good.

I was surprised how many people were seeing the film considering how long it had been out, it is obviously still a popular movie :)

There were a few scary parts that Evie didnt like, but I assured her that the film would have a happy ending and we stayed until the end.

Evies favourite part was when Poppy saved the trolls and her least liked part was when the Bergens tried to eat the trolls.

Overall she liked the film, but wouldnt like to see it again (at the moment) even though she knows it ends well.

We are going to see whats on in the Easter holidays and hopefully go to the cinema again :)

trolls or sing

Today we are going to go to the cinema...

..what we see depends on how quick a certain person takes to get herself dressed :)

When she woke up I asked her if she could remember what we were doing today and she said "were going to the cinema" and I said to her and what are we going to see and she said "Trolls if I get dressed in time and Sing if I dont"

And then we will go to McDonalds for lunch, Evie will want a happy meal and Im going to have a chicken sandwich without mayonnaise (not only is it calorific but I dont like it anyway) :).

Narrow door

Because our kitchen door isn't the normal width the Argos delivery guys couldn't get the old washing machine out.

I spoke to James while they were here and he says that the top.comes off  (via a screw) so he will take that off tonight and then I can call Argos and get them to arrange to come and collect the old one.

They even tried to fob me off saying that as they didn't collect it at the time of delivery that they won't be able to collect and recycle the old one now and that I would have to get the council to do it instead.

I told them that I didn't want to have to do that and I had already paid for them to do it.

They then said that they would do it for me.

So I now have to.arrange to get that done another day.

Purple glasses

e-ticket

Today Im taking Evie on the bus to get her new glasses...

..as we now have to get 2 buses (I have to get an all day ticket), and as Evie is 5 now she needs her own ticket, so on my phone I have paid for an urban 1+2 day e-ticket.

The cost is only an extra 70p and I dont want to encourage Evie to start lying about her age yet :)

Brave wisdom filling

Evie as Nd I had our dentist appointments today.

The other day while she was having some orange juice she told me that it was hurting her teeth, so I mentioned it to the dentist and she said that Evie's teeth had no holes in so all was ok.

Then it was my turn, she started counting my teeth and then when she was at the end of the bottom.row she was prodding with her prodder thing.

She said that I have a small hole in.my wisdom tooth - and that when I'm cleaning my teeth in future I will have to pull my cheek away as the tooth is tucked away and difficult to clean.

So I had a filling, I tried to be as brave as I could be, and they even stopped half way through to check that I was ok.

I now have to remember that today I have to chew on my right hand side.

now the washing machine

First the Tumble Dryer needed replacing.

 Last Thursday I was doing an extra load, and I noticed a puddle of water underneath the washing machine, so I got the washing machine to drain itself and i cleared up the water and put in more washing powder and water softener tablets and started the load again and this time it was ok.

We had another washing machine leak yesterday so have ordered a new washing machine it is being delivered on Wednesday in the morning.

Luckily its half term week so it means that I can be in for the entire time slot :).

Talking of half term week...

...we have some plans...

...we have the dentist on Monday and on Tuesday we are picking up Evies new glasses.

Oh I weighed myself yesterday and I have lost another 3lbs so that is 36lbs or 2 stone 8lbs in total :)

Croaky chilli

Don't worry this post doesn't contain frogs :)

Last week I asked Evie again if she wanted a packed lunch on chilli day (which was on Tuesday) and she said that she wanted the chilli.

I was talking the next day to one of the mums and she said that she is a dinner lady and that Evie could ask one of the dinner ladies to pick out the beans for her :).

So I told Evie that she could do that so she had chilli and was ok with it :)

I still have the reminder in my phone for next time in case she has a change of mind.

And I am all croaky this morning.

I now have James cold

Last week James was laid out for most of the week with a cold.

On Friday I started getting sniffly.

Yesterday just five minutes before I was supposed to go and pick Evie up I was starting to fall asleep, but I woke myself up and went and got her.

After having a little bit of a play in the play area we got home.

When James got home I told him about almost falling asleep (hoping that he would say you have a lie down I will stay downstairs with Evie)...

...but no, when I popped up to go to the loo a few minutes later, James was lying in bed playing a game on his phone!

We finally swapped places after Evie had her dinner.

Im not feeling too bad at the moment and I have just taken some paracetamol.

three little pigs and the giant

This morning Evie said she wanted me to tell her the story of the three little pigs.

So I told her the story, with the ending of the wolf being made into wolf casserole :)

She then decided to tell me her version of the story :), the pigs had the names of her cousins, and instead of a wolf, the villain was a giant.

The giant couldnt fit down the chimney, so he ran home instead, and his Mummy made him some dinner :)

I wanted to record her telling me the story so I could send it to my Sister-in-Law but she wont oblige!

diet police

In my local Starbucks you can now (if you so wish) order your drink/food through the app :)

So yesterday I went into town to get an incentive present for Evie.

So I went into town after getting the doll (she has to go a whole 4 weeks of having dry nights to get it), and walked into the coffee shop, found a seat and sat down.

I got my phone out, made sure I was connected to wi-fi, opened the starbucks app.

selected order, found the drink I wanted (a butterscotch brulee latte) and it would only let me get a medium sized drink as the largest size, but I wanted a large one!

So I went upto the counter and asked why it would only let me order a medium one and they said that it was because of the calories in a large size and they cant be seen to be promoting something that calorific.

But I always order it with only 2 pumps of syrup anyway, so my version isnt too calorific anyway.

So I had to order it the normal way, perhaps next time I will have a medium one just so I can order it on my phone, or instead go for a large sugarfree latte.

Yes thats what I will do...

the end of her good run

I knew that I shouldnt get too excited about Evies 15 night run of dry nights...

...both Tuesday morning and this morning I have had to change her bedding - yesterday I had to do a wash as even her duvet needed washing.

LOL I even did her a wow star about it :)
