playing in puddles

Yesterday at Tumble Tots when they chat to the kids before they start they were asking "did mummy let you jump in the puddles?" this gave me the idea to let her play in the puddles once it had stopped raining that afternoon...

...so after Evies nap I put on her raincoat and wellington boots and I let Evie play in the puddles in our cul de sac ;o)

Our neighbours were waving at us too ;o)

She had a great time ;o)

jumping in puddles

and even started to cry when we came in because it started to rain again!

Because I am still feeling lousy with my cold I renewed Evies books online as they were due to go back on Thursday (and I decided to do it while I remembered) ;o)

tube strikes & lightning strikes

Firstly sorry for 2 posts today...

Yesterdays journey home was a blooming nightmare...

...I got to Liverpool Street Station and the concourse was crowded (not so crowded that you couldnt get to your platform but very busy), so I looked up at the departure boards and saw that my train was there, so I pushed my way through walked upto the platform, and the carriages were rammed!

It was like they had only provided an 8 carriage train as opposed to the normal 12 (so I looked up at the board and there was no mention of the train being short), then it struck me that the train was busy because of the tube strike and workers leaving early so they didnt get home too late.

So I walked up the platform and finally found the carriages toward the back werent so busy, so I plonked myself down on a seat ;o) When the train left our carriage was also packed!

So the journey began...

...the train left Liverpool Street but started to go slow from Stratford onwards, when we got to Forest Gate the train stopped, and the driver announced that there was going to be severe delays (they dont usually use the word severe so I knew it was going to be bad) as there had been a lightning strike at Seven Sisters, and the trains were going to be slow up until we get to Shenfield.

The train finally started speeding up when we got to Brentwood, I tried to text James but typically we were in the mobile reception dead spot, so waited until we got to Shenfield so I could let him know that I was 10 minutes away.

I finally got home nearly an hour late...

Network dead spot

I was on the train home last night, we had just got past Stratford, and the driver announced that there was an incident at Marks Tey that may affect our journey home.

A lady sitting two seats across from me had just got a text message from her friend saying that there had been a fatality (oh great why cant these ever happen in the mornings?), and she had stopped at Shenfield.  I thought to myself "oh well"...

The train then gets to Brentwood and the train stops in the very place where you cant get cell phone coverage, so I typed out a message to send to James for when the train started moving again.

The train eventually (about 20 minutes later I would guess) started moving again so I sent the text to James.  James then came back with "whats your eta" so I came back with "I have no idea its supposed to take 8 minutes from here but who knows".

The train then gets to Shenfield and the driver opens the doors so we can have some fresh air (if we want), a whole load of people got on at Shenfield (our train wasnt supposed to stop here out of interest), and again we were stopped for 20 minutes.

The train then got to Ingatestone (again we were there for 20 minutes) and the driver  opened the doors this time only one person got on and he went straight into the toilet, and didnt resurface until we got to Chelmsford.

I ended up being an hour late!
