race for life

Last Sunday me and my friends finally did our Race for Life after it got rained off in July.

Me & Evie went with James Mum & Dad (while James went and did the food shopping).

We arrived at Hylands Park as we wanted a drink before the start we found somewhere to sit down that happened to be under a gazebo, and that was where they had decided to stay for the entire time!

While we were drinking our tea I saw someone that I thought that I recognised and sure enough she had recognised me too - it was someone that I had worked with 23 years ago (that makes me feel so old) how funny it that ;o).

I did think about bringing the baby carrier so I could take Evie around the course with me but thought better of it ;o), and decided to leave her with the grandparents along with instructions of where her food was etc...

...I had my phone in my hand just in case I got a frantic phone call saying that Evie wouldnt stop crying, but no...

...when I got back I found Evie asleep in her Nannys arms where she clearly didnt miss me at all ;o)

It took us 1 hour and 2 minutes as we were doing a slow walk and as we chatted the whole way around it went really quickly ;o)

postponed

I got an e-mail yesterday from Race For Life saying that our event has been postponed until 16th September because of the weather (the car park is waterlogged).

I did a search to see if there was another one that I could go to instead but all of the other ones in our area have already taken place.

At least with it now being in September it means that Evie will be that little bit bigger for when my friends see her ;o)

Hopefully the weather will be ok that day.

I ordered the wrong size anyway

In April me & my friends entered Race for Life in honour of our friend Emma.

We each bought a t-shirt to wear for our event (which happens to be next Sunday) but none of them turned up.

I asked for a refund of mine and one of my friends tees (as I had registered both of us together).

So this morning I went into the Cancer Research shop in Chelmsford High Street and found the size I had ordered (but when I held it up it looked too small) so I bought the biggest size that they had (hee hee Im blaming it on the baby weight ;o)).

My other friend had re-ordered her one and it arrived a week later (it was cutting it a bit too fine for me to do the same thing).

But at least I have it now ;o)
