not using my thumb and upside down turtle*

* no turtles were harmed in the making of this blogpost ;o)

On Thursday me & Evie had our dentist appointments.

We got there in plenty of time and when we got called in I put my bag and our coats on the chair and the dentist told Evie to climb on the chair, so I asked if se wanted her to sit on my lap and she said "no, she can sit on her own now" ;o)

Evie didnt mind sitting on her own and the dentist even told her that her teeth were like pearls ;o)

Then it was my turn, Evie got off of the chair and I sat down, after making sure that Evie was sat down ok ;o)

Evie then shouted out that I looked like an upside down turtle ;o)

As my teeth were all ok I then had my teeth cleaned and polished and Evie told me after that my teeth were lovely and clean now ;o)

Yesterday I was changing the bedding when I suddenly got a really bad pain in my thumb...

...it only hurts when I move my thumb or try to grip something.

I went to see the pharacist this morning (hoping that I could get some sort of support bandage) the only advice I got was to not use my thumb for a couple of days and to use some ibprofen gel!

smart meter

A few weeks ago we got an e-mail from our electricity provider that our electricity meter was being phased out and that they would like to install a smart meter.

So James asked me what day would be best for me to be in  for it to be fitted, so we went for a day that Evie is at pre-school.

The smart meter got fitted yesterday...

...we even got a monitor to show us how much electricity we are using (the prices are ex VAT)

since we had it installed yesterday

tumble dryer, laptop, tv, light and sky box
with the load of washing from earlier today
Evie came up with a new word yesterday..

...yummylicous (I wonder how many times it has to be used before it gets added to the Oxford English Dictionary? ;o)

hide and seek Evies way

Evie has been wanting to play hide and seek with her monkey keyring...

I hide her and Evie counts to ten with her hands splayed and her eyes open (so she can see where I have hidden her) and then Evies "looks" for her ;o)

coco monkey hiding
Yesterday Evie walked to and from Tumble Tots again ;o)

We were almost home and Evie was saying again that she didnt want to walk so when we got to the footbridge I told her that she could have a rest on the wall (once we were away from the duel carriageway).

having a rest on our way home

part of the shopping

For the last couple of supermarket visits we have let Evie sit in the trolley...

she was a packet of frozen peas ;o)
...she enjoys being part of the shopping ;o)

yollie keyrings

For the past couple of months yollies have been offering a free talking keyring if you buy two packets of them ;o)

free offer
As Evie got back into yollies (just before Christmas) but has since turned her nose back up at them again, we bought enough for two keyrings.

Just after Christmas we entered our four codes and yesterday we got our two keyrings ;o)

our two keyrings
At first I wasnt allowed to open them...

...but eventually I was allowed to open the explorer one ;o)

With the weather finally getting wintery...

...I not only managed to get Evie to wear her hat but also a pair of mittens too ;o)

A breadstick fix nearer to home

We had to go into town today.

While I was complaining in the high street w h Smith last thursday the lady I was moaning to said that she had seen marmite breadstick bites on sale in the train station stores.

So we went home via the train station and I bought all the bags I could get my sweaty little hands on ;o).

easy voice recorder

A while ago I downloaded easy voice recorder to record Evie chattering away.

A couple of weeks ago I was recording Evie singing and my phone rang (luckily it was only James) and it taped the conversation as well as her singing.

I was doing more options on there and saw that I could save a recording as my ringtone so yesterday I recorded Evie singing and then I did more options on "set as ringtone" and saw that I could do an alarm clock one (which doesnt work as I havent bought the pro version of my alarm clock) and as a notification tone as well...

recording selected
and up close
saved as a ringtone
...so I got Evie to say "you have a message" but she actually says "have you got a message" ;o)

The only problem is now that I have to double check if its Evie or my phone ;o)

hoping to go on a marmite breadstick hunt

Following my unexpected find on Tuesday, yesterday when we did a mid week shop I scoured the crackers aisle for marmite breadsticks, but I couldnt see them.

So hopefully today we will pop into town and I can check out w h smith to see if the one in town stocks them too (otherwise I will see if I can order them).

I will also check out the supermarket in town too.

Evie tried my marmite breadsticks on Tuesday, first of all I thought that she liked them because she took the bag off of me then she handed them back saying that she didnt like them!

Mum will be gutted

I was at broomfield hospital this morning picking up evies new pair of glasses.

After getting ourselves a drink (a skinny latte and a kids hot chocolate) I decided to look in the on site w h Smith.

I'm really glad that we did because I saw that they have marmite breadsticks...

...yes they're back, so I asked the lady cashier if they would have them in the high street branch too and she said that they should as they order from the same supplier.

I have promised Evie that she can try them too, she will probably like them as she likes twiglets...

...so another thing to possibly share with her.

And the reason that my mum will be gutted is because she returned back to Holland last night.

racing and walking

Yesterday morning after breakfast we went upstairs to get dressed.

Evie went to the toilet first while I sorted out her clothes, and while I was going to go to the toilet I asked her to get dressed.

I went in a few minutes later and found her lying on the bed!

After it took nearly 2 hours the other day I thought that I would try the racing technique again, so I said to her "lets race to see who can get dressed first"

She then got up and took her glasses off and kept on telling me that she was going to win ;o)

She ran in to show me that she had taken off her top shouting "Im winning mummy" so I sent her back into her room...

...then she ran in to show me that she had taken off  her bottoms, then her vest, the she had her long sleeved top on, she needed me to help her with her tumble tots t-shirt, and she also needed a bit of help with her trousers too.

And yay she won ;o)

And as I hadnt gotten out her socks I did them for her after.

I asked her if she wanted to walk to Tumble Tots or go in the buggy, she said that she wanted to go in the buggy...

...so I asked her again just before we were leaving and she said that she wanted to walk, so I then asked if I should bring the buggy with me just in case she got tired and she said "no" so I left it at home.

We left home 15 minutes earlier than we do normally (in case she dawdled) I think it only took as an extra 5 minutes all told so that was good.

She then did tumble tots...

...as she normally has a packet of crisps on the way home I decided to let her eat them before we left t come home as walking and eating might have been a bit of a struggle.

She was about halfway through her bag when she said that she wanted to go home now so I told her that we could leave after she had finished

So we went to the toilet and set off home...

..no sooner had we walked out Evie said that she was too tired to walk!

So I told her that it wasnt that far to go and the sooner we got home the sooner she could have some lunch ;o)

I kept on talking to her telling her how close landmarks were (such as the archway we walk through and the footbridge we walk over) ;o)

We eventually got home (only 10 minutes later than normal) and I expected her to want a nap after lunch but she kept on going until bedtime ;o)

something else to share

First it was monster munch, Evie still wont let me eat them without wanting to share them ;o)

On New Years Day we were in town and Evie wanted to go out for walk...

...so James took her out ;o)

A while later I saw them come back and saw that Evie had a box in her hand and when she saw me she hid it behind her back.

She then told me that she had a present for me and it was creamy eggs ;o)

Yes they had bought me a 5 box of cadburys creme eggs ;o)

As Evie could tell that they were chocolates I told her that she could have one later.

So after her dinner I asked her what she wanted for dessert and she said a "creamy egg" so I gave her one and she loved it ;o)

So I now have a great excuse for buying them but I do have to share them ;o)
