...the long and the short of it is that we have had a brand new power shower fitted ;o).

When I knew that it was safe to use I jumped in the shower turned it on and the water come out with force...
...I think that the new one is even better than our old one, mind you it was 15 years old!

Bet it felt bliss having the first proper shower in days.
Our shower is fifteen years old too, we moved into our (new) house in 1996, just hope ours doesn't die, fingers crossed! Although ours doesn't get much use as we both prefer to soak in the bath, perhaps that explains the wrinkles :)

At least now that you have a properly working shower you can go back to having proper showers.
I'd still use the pressure washer on James ocassionally though, just for a laugh. Don't do it today though, it is his Birthday after all!
