...ok admittedly Essex, Herts and Bucks are part of the Home Counties, but Dorset that is nowhere near London!

Every host country spreads things about it because it would logistically impossible to hold every event in the host city. You couldn't have the sailing on the Thames for example.
LOL in my book then that is cheating but I do see your point ;o)
It would only be cheating if they held, say, the wrestling etc. at the NEC rather then ExCel!
